I think it comes down to 2 things.

1- A person is wiling to help by purchasing a subscription or product because he/she likes or is interested in the product and in the process will be helping the website that is providing features to enhance his/her desktop.

2- A person does not help by not purchasing anything because he/she finds no need or use for any of the products offered by the website. In which case it will help most by not making any type of comments or excuses in the matter of how hard and unnecessary it is to obtain any of the products.

In short. Either a person helps and enjoys their acquisition or doesn’t help and remains anonymous.

I'm number 132 on the subscription drive....though I have absolutely no idea what benefit it will ever be to me considering my 'position', but the $20 US will buy a portion of the new harddrive that we'll all be interfacing with, so that's about it.

It's not simply a matter of whether it's of practical USE, but whether it's of practical ASSISTANCE......just like donating to the RSPCA or its equivalent elsewhere.

Looking back on the 6 months I have been here I realize I do get respect.

You need to choose your words/phrases a little more carefully, and try to see your post from someone elses point of view...That way, its less likely that you'll sound rude.

Well I had to sit down and think for awhile. I do get alot of respect around here, and in many ways. These little games I play need to stop. I need to grow up. I realize that WC needs $$ for new hardware so I am going to track down a family member with a credit card and get signed up, then I will pay that family member back. I have alot of problems. You all should not be the ones I take my problems or anger out on.

If I can be of some help to someone here I will be. Thinking back, the only reason i got yelled at here was because I either contradicked myself or attacked someone.

Jafo and IPlural have helped me loads with my problems. i am forever in thier debt as well as yrags. He has helped as well.

So I guess it is time to quit complaining and move on. Yes it is a 2 way street and it seems lately I have not been driving.

That's the way to do it...

My brother in law is a bike nut....and he needed a part for his '70 Commando...and it was only available in a shop in England [naturally]....and he didn't have a credit card....so along came me to the rescue.

They didn't have an online payment method so I had to 'fax' them the details.

No drama...just dialled the number....and waited.....then a voice answers...'Hello"......

Oops, I think.....as I'd assumed it was a work fax line.....but lo, it was also their phone line...and they lived above the shop.....

Frantic apologies for calling them at 3 in the morning....but they were fine....said they get it all the time from International customers.....

Anyway, Platon got his fluted timing cover so all was well...
