Start11 1.4.11 Release Issue Report Thread

With the Start11 1.4.11 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

My taskbar is set to white, solid. But the following issue happens with any setting in 1.4.1... When I close the lid of my computer and re-open it (computer does not sleep or turn off, simply turns off display), the taskbar reloads but is solid colored with my "accent color" as picked from the windows personalization settings menu. Interacting with the taskbar turns it back to solid white until the laptop lid is closed again.

Taskbar Normal Operation

Taskbar changed to accent color - blue

 

Taskbar changed to accent color - yellow

 

Downloaded 1.42 Beta. Issue seems to be resolved in this version. Thanks!

Since latest Windows update, I am experiencing this issue

When right clicking the start button, the menu opens up at the left side of the screen instead directly above the start button. Perhaps this can be fixed with the next Start11 update. Thanks.

I believe this is fixed in the latest beta version, you might want to give that a go

I dunno if it has been said here but ver 1.41.1 ( or 1.42 beta as of yesterday) doesn't allow me to put the taskbar on top on a Surface Pro 8 or get "small icons" anymore.
running Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 OS build: 22621.1413

You would need to disable the touch taskbar option in Windows as that has to be at the bottom of the screen.  This is a new feature in that version of Windows.

With regards to size, you need to ensure enhanced taskbar in Start11 is enabled and you do not have an autohide taskbar enabled.  This is due to changes made by Microsoft in that update.

An old bug has resurfaced in v1.41 for me.

When I start typing to search, the first character is sometimes omitted in the search.
I have Start11 search switched to off, so it uses the Windows search.
But if I open the Windows 11 menu and search, this problem doesn't happen.
