Opacity is different on two different monitors using windows 11

I'm having problems with my opacity, using windows 11 (prior to most current update) my right side has fences that are transparent and on the left monitor they are opaque.

I had to undo the newest update (windows 11) as it was causing the fences on my right screen the transparent side to all appear opaque solid dark blue.

Not sure what is going on here, Stardock please put out a fix for this.  I verified that opacity is set to 100% (Fully Visible) on all of my fences yet they are different on left and right monitors.  To the best of my knowledge both monitors are the same type/model.

Thank you,

Sawz

I can't seem to reproduce your issue on my Win11 system. Refer my screenshot below.

Moving forward. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version (Fences 4.10.06 [Beta]) from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Hello basj,

I did what you asked and I have mixed results.  There is a difference on my system between

Fences4_setup_sd    &    Fences4_4.1.0.6-j107-Setup_sd (BETA)

Per your instructions of install and removal with computer restarts in between results in the following.

Previously my screen looked like this... RUNNING Fences4_setup_sd

After purge, restart, install beta version then restarting again my screen does look like yours, i.e. like this on both the left and right of the screens (transparency is foggy looking, you can't see the waves of the ocean).

After rebooting, purging, rebooting, installing (Fences4_setup_sd) my screen looks like this.  (basically reverting back to the 4.0 non beta version).  This is how and what I want my screen transparency to look like.  I don't like the foggy background of the fences where you can't see the waves.

The issue and fix I belive lies somewhere in between your two versions, something changed in your software which changed what my monitors look like.

My monitors look identical but the labels on the back are different, perhaps this could be a reason why? The both use the same OEM7.inf driver default for Windows 11.

I'm not sure which monitor is which as they appear with the same name (looks like duplicates).

one of them is     LGUM2558-P   and the other is    LG25UM56-PE

I'm not sure what the differences are between them.  If you need me to try FENCES 3, I can do this as well as I'm registered with this software as well.  In version 3 I'm pretty sure both sides of the screen looked like this...

 This is what I want.

Thank you for your time,

Sawz

Version 3 looks like this on my computer.

I was wrong about being able to see the waves in version 4.0.

On my pc, Version 3 looks like version 4.1 on both sides of the screen.  The difference lies in the

program version 4.0SD.

FYI...   performing a SFC /scannow  in elevated command prompt results in no errors being detected.

My drivers and OS installation are not resulting in any errors detected.

Currently I'm holding at Fences4_4.1.0.6-j107-Setup_sd (BETA).

I think this will be the best version for me to keep as there is uniformity between both left and right screens, it's not what I want but it's obvious from looking at your snapshot picture this is how it was intended to look like.

Waiting to hear back from you,

Sawz

If you don't like the frosted/blur background, you can try disable the Translucent background option and adjust the transparency slider accordingly.

Hello basj,

Thank you very much for all of your assistance.  In conclusion, the Fences4_4.1.0.6-j107-Setup_sd (BETA) version fixed my problem.  I had a problem which I did not realize, there was no uniformity between my left and right screens.

Uniformity is now fixed and I have my clear backgrounds by unticking the box "Translucent Fence Backgrounds"

I am satisfied with the results and I would like to close this issue.  I'm very happy with the results that I have now :)

Thank you very much for your time, all of your help has been greatly appreciated!
