"Colonial Supplies" Executive Order

The Colonial Supplies executive order has always been confusing to me so I have never used it (until now!).  The first screen snapshot below shows what the Colonial Supplies executive order says and it shows a colony that currently has a Decay value of -37%.  After spending 30 control on this executive order, the second screen snapshot shows that the decay for the colony was reduced by 50% to -18%.

I suggest changing the text of the executive order to say "Making a large shipment of supplies to our colonies will reduce their decay rate for 25 turns."  I also suggest changing the number in the "Effects" section to be -50% instead of +50%.  I think these changes will make it clearer to players what this executive order actually does.

That makes a lot of contextual sense, I'm inclined to agree, I'll be sure to share with the team to get their perspective.

Might be better just to say it will reduce decay by 50% and drop the +/- altogether.

I read something is reduced by -50% I am going to never use it as I do not automatically think back 50+ years to the last time I dealt with negative numbers other than to add and subtract.

I mean negative fractions and -%, just have not had to use them.

There is a planetary upgrade (whose name I can't remember - something Elevator I think) that has the same problem. It says it increases decay when it should say decrease delay. And unlike the executive order described above, I'm not sure this upgrade does what it says, since the last time I used it the planetary tooltip showed the decay didn't change.

Presumably they could fix EDL plan or software, but it doesn't leave much room if something else goes wrong.

Still, I like that there seems to be so much buy in on the Red Dragon concept. If you want to ramp up science on Mars, it makes sense to use a standardized delivery architecture instead of a series of bespoke landers. netgear login
