Hi,

Just out of curiosity, are the Start11 pinned apps supposed to sync with the Windows 11 pinned apps? In other words if I pin an app to the Windows menu should it automatically show as a pinned app in Start 11? And conversely, if I unpin an app from Start 11 should it also be removed from the Windows 11 start menu?

Again, I know I'm on the insider program but just wondering if this is designed into Start 11.

Thanks

Hi folks,

On Start11 1.31, Edition Windows 11 Enterprise, Version 22H2, installed on ‎2022/‎09/‎09, OS build 22621.674, Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0

I cannot seem to pin an executable or shortcut to Start using "Pin to Start". It does pin to the regular Win 11 Start Menu.

Now to get this to work I need to create a shortcut in Start Menu\Programs so it shows up in the Start11 All Apps list, right click and then "Add to Start11".

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know which Start11 style you're using? I can see the pin to start work for Win 10 and Win 11 style. But not on my Win 7 or Win 8 Style.

Thanks

Running Windows 11 arm (parallels on a mac M2 air) - keep getting prompted by windows to "remove start 10 because it is not compatible and can't be used with this version of windows"

I'm updating windows in hopes this fixes it, but is this happening to others?

I don't think any Stardock customization software are compatible with ARM based computers. And Start 10 will hardly work like intended on Windows 11.

Hi all

Using the search function in Start11 suddenly no longer returns any icons of the search results. Is this a known bug or am I missing something in the settings?

It's pretty irritating since those icons are pretty important in order to find things quickly.

I have to disable Start11, then use the crummy Win11 start menu to find the icon I want, drag it to the desktop, then enable Start11 again. It's a hassle...

I am having the same issue as ZimM373, where my system tray icons are not displaying / getting cut off when Taskbar size is set to small, and Taskbar is resized to multiple rows.

After last two Windows 11 Cumulative updates bringing my windows to Windows 11 Pro, Version 21H2, Build 22000.1219; I have been having issues with the placing and moving of the pinned icons on the Start11 Task Bar. When moving, it is like the curser line is 'rapidly blinking non-stop' before or after the mouse location. Almost like Windows cannot determine where I am trying to place the icon. Sometimes it can lock the cursor after multiple exhausting attempts. But it can take dozens (note with an S) of attempts. I have tried moving the mouse curser off the bar, above the bar, on the edge of the bar, tried to keep it over the cursor itself as best as I can, and as much as I can think of to no effect to solve this. Changed every setting one after another in the Start11 Configuration trying to determine if one of them is the cultrate. Nothing. Below is a list, though I may have missed some, of what I have tried. Hope this helps.

I have Windows 10 Style, but have tried using Windows 11 Style, Modern Style, and Windows 7 style Start Menus so do not believe those have anything to do with it.

I use a Custom Start Button, tried without the button on. Still happens.

I use Left taskbar, tried center and full center start menu (experimental) still happens.

I use a Small Taskbar setting, tried medium and large, still happens.

Taskbar buttons should be combined (sometimes) is selected, tried never and always... still happens.

Transparency, blur, and colors are off... Turning on does not effect.

Taskbar Textures are off... Turning on does not effect.

NOTE: If I turn off "Let Start11 enhance the Taskbar" Then this solves the issue! However, we want Start11 to 'enhance' the Taskbar! So, we know something is off in this part of the application. With the last 2 cumulative updates, something broke between Microsoft and Stardock's Start11...

I have a multi-monitor setup (3 monitors in total) Unless I totally disrupt my PC setup and cause hell for my Windows... (Not sure why it causes days to reconfigure everything, but it does) I have not tried single monitor setup except 'simulated' by shutting off in the nVidia control panel. From there, it still did the same thing; but I DO know it is not like disconnecting the monitors directly. It may have a different effect.  I am fairly confident that this is likely not the cause of the issue, however.

I have double checked my drivers (did this first).

I have double checked DirectX and other similar systems to ensure any missing parts were reinstalled and repaired. (Again, did this first.)

A re-install did nothing to change this issue, even after completely removing left over folders and files.

What version of Start11 did you have installed?

I would download and install 1.31 as it should work just fine.

Apologies, I forgot to mention I was using 1.31. I uninstalled to resolve after a restart did not work. I'll try another install and let you know the results.

Since I installed 1.31, I cannot add these symbol menus anymore:

Those are not a feature of Start11 but would be provided by your OS taskbar.  Which OS are you using?

I am assuming you are on Windows 10 as the Toolbar feature is not available on Windows 11.

That said, I am running Windows 10 build 19045.2251 and am able to create and use Toolbars without issue.

You might need to recreate your Toolbar.

If you already know how to create toolbars, disregard the following instructions.

Create a New Toolbar:

Create a New Folder in your user folder and Name it with the name you want as the name of your Toolbar.

Create shortcuts for all the items you want in the toolbar and drag them into the folder you just created.

Now, Right click on the taskbar and select Toolbars>New toolbar.

In the window that opens, navigate to the folder you created above and highlight it.

Now, click Select Folder.

Your new Toolbar should now be on the Taskbar.

If you unlock the Taskbar, you can Right click on the Toolbar and select options such as View (Large or Small icons), Show text, and Show title.

With the taskbar unlocked, you can drag the toolbar to a location of your choice.

Once you have everything the way you like it, Lock the taskbar again.

Hey! I am on Windows 11. The Screenshot is from google. I just wanted to show what kind of menu I mean. I cannot make a screenshot myself since I do not have that menu anymore.

When I make a right click on my taskbar, I only have this:

  • "The line on 22H2 taskbars now adjusts with the alpha set on the taskbar by the user and is hidden entirely when the taskbar is on top. You can also create a registry key in the usual location of type string and give it a value of "1" and a name of "HideTaskbarLineEntirely" should you wish to always hide the line entirely."
  • May I ask what is the usual location of type string ? (in details please)
