Skin Studio Disappeared?

When I first downloaded Stardock Central I had SkinStudio, but now it's gone and I didn't delete it or uninstall it. Does anyone have any idea why this could have happened and how I can get it back?

If you have Object Desktop, then its under objectdesktop in you all programs.

oops, I think I may have downloaded the last copy.   Seriously, make sure 'show pre-released versions" is checked.

Yes I have ObjectDesktop and thats where it was, but it has disappeared.

It was there even before the "show pre-realease versions" was checked. It was after I checked it out of curiousity and downloaded the beta version of WindowBlinds4.19 that it disappeared and I also started having problems with WindowBlinds. Which is a whole other issue I'm trying to fix.

Look in All prog--->stardock. Thats where mine are. You can also do a search for skinstdio.exe

...thanks ChinaCat

So Crissy....are you saying if I find it in my files I can reinstall it from there?

Have you lost the program on you computer, or the download isn't showing in SDC?

If the exe is there, then the program is still installed. You can just create shortcuts to it in the start menu, desktop, quick launch, etc.. Stardock Central may have deleted the old programs. You can just reinstall them with Stardock Central. But, make sure the old programs and versions are deleted, or you may have conflicts between the old and the new.Or, get rid of SC and just use CM.

No. What Im saying is if you find it in your all programs--->stardock, or all prog--->object desktop dir. , then you have it. Just double click on skinstudio.exe. If you say you didnt uninstall it, then it still should be on your computer. But if you did inadvertantly uninstall it, then simply reinstall it from stardock central.

Ok Crissy...I found it in my folders and it opened and was operational, but how can I get it back into stardock Central so I don't have to go through my folders to use it?

Ok, so to reinstall it I need to check "show pre-release versions"?

And I would know the difference between old and new by? Because I never uninstalled the old version, it just disappeared.

BTW webgizmos -when you do find or re-install SS, I suggest you drag its icon onto your start menu or quick lauch bar so you don't loose it again.

I guess what I meant to say was how do I get it back into Stardock Central, but I took your advice and created a shortcut to it on my desktop.

Oh...and thanks to Chas as well since he also suggested the shortcut.

Thanks Crissy...now if I can only get rid of the Beta version of WindowBlinds4.19 and re-install WindowBlinds4 I'll be back in shape. Can't get the thing to uninstall.

If you by any chance have "archive apps before updating" checked (in stardock central tools-->settings), then you can uninstall WB4.19 and go back to 4.1. If you don't have this checked , then I think you're sort out of luck.

Unfortunately I wasn't aware of archiving before I downloaded the 4.19 version so I guess I'm out of luck as you say. I guess the only way would be to uninstall everything and start from scratch.

Check that...I just went and looked at my settings and I did indeed have the suto archiving checked...so oh wise one how can I uninstall this beta version and get back to square one?

Would that be by clicking on "Restore existing"?

In SDC right click on proggie and click on 'Archive/Restore' and then click on 'restore existing'

Yahoo! If you are sure you've been archiving the apps, then right click on WB (within stardock central)and choose "restore existing". This should bring up a dialog box with all your archived apps. Scroll down untill you find the WB version that you want. What kind of problems are you having with WB4.19 anyway?
