Quoting zme-ul,

version 1.2 added Sign-in Options to the Shutdown menu, how do I get rid of it? - haven't found a option in the settings for it, or I'm missing something

Start 11 / ver 1.2 / Windows 10 style

Yes, I don't understand why it exists

End of zme-ul's quote

Sign-In options is a new option which is shown on the native Windows 11 menu on dev/beta releases.  This will show eventually on release versions of Windows 11 later this year.

That said we have modified S11 to only show this on those OSes in the next update so the extra item does not cause confusion.

When using icons only for the right side of the start menu (My Computer etc), and turning on increased spacing, the whole start menu grows taller, needlessly.

Well yes, but actually no - I chose W10 style menu, not W11 style 🙃

Has anyone noticed the clock freezing in the TaskBar? I can't figure out what is causing it to stop updating. 11.2

Hi, I just updated to 1.2 and now when I click on the start button it opens the menu on a different monitor. Also the start menu won't open at all when I click the start button my other monitor. Also, sometimes the icons displayed on the taskbar are mixed up(Chrome has steam's icon, etc.) I was having no issues with the previous version. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and restarting explorer and pc, updating windows. Any tips?

I have an almost similar issue.

Windows version: Windows 11, version 21H2, Danish language

Problem:

Icons are missing in the taskbar, when the height is 2 (two) bars high.

If the height is only the default 1 (one) bar hight, there is no issue.

I have 3 screens attached to my workstation.

I am afraid traffic monitor works in an unsupportable way and wouldn't be aware of the position of things.

Even without start11 it is broken as it cannot reserve any space so if the taskbar fills up buttons will go over it.  This is considerably more likely with ungrouped taskbar buttons.

End of Neil's quote

Fair enough.

On the button position issue, what scaling factor are your secondary monitors set to?
End of Neil's quote

All 3 monitors are identical 1440p monitors with 125% scaling.

In the next update, will it be possible to put the central start even when using the icons of the non-combined programs in the start bar?

Just an FYI, 1.2.1 Beta has been published.

With the new Enhanced Taskbar, I lose all my pinned apps and the ability to pin new ones.  If I turn Enhanced Taskbar off, they come back.
End of MedievalGuy's quote
Fixed in the new Beta.

Quoting fatjoez,

please add option to remove the margin padding around taskbar buttons

& stretch the button click area to the edge of taskbar

make easier to click buttons quickly.

Clicking at the very bottom of the taskbar should still trigger the buttons when you have a single row taskbar.

End of Neil's quote

clicking the bottom part does, the top part does not.

I have the taskbar top mounted, i move the mouse directly to the top of the screen & over the area of the button.

clicking does not trigger the app. it just clicks the taskbar.

* please add option to stretch taskbar button click area to full size of taskbar area.

* please also reduce the large padding between taskbar app icon & text and right padding of taskbar button and text to fit more text.

(or please add a "compact" setting which minimises all these paddings & spaces)

Hello,

I am unable to turn on (or off) the new taskbar setting options in Start11 v1.2....the 'on/off' button is not clickable (because I can't see it). I hope the screen capture is enough information to help you help me.

Thanks,

M

Are all the screens being cut like that or only the taskbar one?

Also what scaling factor is your desktop set to?  I assume resizing the window doesn't help?

Sometimes the start button won't open when clicking.  Eventually, it opens after about 10 seconds.  Seems to be hanging up at times.  Using a Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop.  I've noticed this since updating to 1.2.  Never happened with the previous version.

On my Surface Pro 7 (three monitors in total) with 22593.1 installed, the system tray (bottom right) goes missing when I install Start11. No icons whatsoever. I have tried multiple options, including beta/dev build and purging, then reinstalling. As soon as I uninstall Start11 everything is back to normal. Disappointed, to say the least.

This is still an issue with latest 1.2 release, and it has been since 1.0 (at least for me). I've tried reinstalling it.

- Whenever you right click on a tile, it all goes to hell for a few seconds, everything is delayed, it's awful
- When you click on a folder in the start menu, it feels like there's a delay before any other click is registered. It's slow.
- Right clicking a tile also breaks scrolling of the start menu for a bit

See video for examples of both issues, I've added an overlay of my mouse so you can see clicks.

On surface device with no keyboard attached always get standard windows menu rather than Stardock.  Have to tap start menu twice for it to display.

I should start by saying we do not provide official support for beta/dev channel builds of Windows 11.

I cannot say why you are having that issue when others are not.  One thing I would suggest is setting your main monitor to the leftmost one and signing out.

Also do you have it set to enhance the taskbar in start11 or do you have a custom start button?

Which version of Windows?

Yo!

Dunno if this bug has already been reported or known, but today I have finally upgraded to Win 11 and installed Start 11 to make things comfortable, and while most of the things so far is working like expected and like before on Windows 10 with Start 10, one feature is not working, at least for me - for Notepad the pinned files and recents are not opening - when you click on them it does nothing - http://joxi.ru/gmv9wq4Se1vj6r

I have unpinned the Notepad and pinned it again but now I can not get this functionality at all. So, please help, maybe I have missed something in the settings, I dunno. Latest Start 11 and latest Windows 11 Pro (Version 21H2, build 22000.593).

windows version: 11, 21H2

Bug: start11 does not disappear when a video is fullscreened on the secondary display. It works fine of the primary display.

Are you using the new special touch mode taskbar when no keyboard attached? (Setting in Windows taskbar settings)

If so that is a beta/dev channel feature and I am afraid we do not offer official support for those. We will note the issue for further investigation but cannot promise when a resolution will be available.

Thank you for reply, my problem is to find the trace of using the tool StartAllBack earlier, before I switched to Start11. I deinstalled StartAllBack, but this is not enough, obviously. Does anybody know, whether there is an option to change the registry? Thank you in advance
