Start11 1.1.1.1 Beta Feedback Thread

With the Start11 1.11 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and link included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

I am currently on Windows version 22000.469

I updated to start 11 v 1.1.1 and initially I was not having problems. Upon restarting my PC the start button was no longer working, it would only open up Windows 11 normal start menu. I reverted back to release build and the start 11 functionality did return.

Update - I reinstalled v 1.1.1 and it is now working again. Some file must have become corrupted.

The issue with the taskbar at the top of the screen and the truncated menu for network sound etc is still not fixed:

Well you seem to have fixed the jumping to the top issue. My start bars still seem to stay at the bottom now.

Hi,

On a french Windows 11 install, there's a collate issue into the all applications list (on Start11 v1.1.1 and below when using Windows 10 or 11 menu styles. I didn't checked the other layouts) :

Applications named as "Éditeur de vidéo" are sorted in their own "É" section beyond the "Z" entry, instead of being merged within the "E" ones.

Another one:

In the all applications list of the regular windows 11 menu, you're allowed to drag application icons onto the desktop to have shortcut copies there.

This is not the case within Start11.

Maximeholler - Do you have "Show Beta downloads" check marked as shown in post #1. The latest release is 1.1.1.1 not 1.11

I have as well Start11 search issues.

Specifically these 2 options are not working:

 

Searching for text string inside a text file which is returned from search doesn't work.

Looking for anything which is on Desktop doesn't work as well.

Same issues also on the non beta version on Start11.

 

Versions:

Windows 10 21H2 19044.1526

Fences 4.0.0.3

It seems the "All Apps" button has been missing on the start menu since the last two updates. Nothing is there until I hover over the spot, and then a text box pops up for renaming the 'pinned' group.

I have updated to the latest Beta but the internal search is still not working
