I know im showing my age with this one but there used to be a simple program for Windows XP called XPlash it was made by a programmer named Aleni, recently I went to his site and it was dead with no explantion. Anyone know where I can find a copy of this?

you can´t. XPlash is dead meat. Aleni now recommends to use tinsplash by tin_omen. it has more features anyways.

OK. I am a curious guy. I downloaded it, tried it, and it works. Pretty cool too.

But... what's it good for? I mean, ok, so a cool slpash screen fades in and out. Why?

paxx: well, it´s mostly intended to be cool. you can launch an app with the splashscreen btw.

if you want it to be something useful you can use it in a command line script to give you feedback after a task is completed. looks sexier than a regular message box. (for example when you are downloading a large website with wget).
