Known issues

  • If you have Start10 on Windows 10 and install Start11, you will be asked to uninstall Start10 first manually, reboot, then start the Start11 install.  This is not ideal and we are looking to improve the update path.
  • Using native Windows 11 Start menu with the taskbar at the top of the screen and Start button centered, native menu will appear left-aligned.
  • There is a blank icon for Edge on Windows 10 that we believe is related an issue with Windows itself:
  • An uninstall may leave some files \ settings behind.
  • WB skins may have wider than ideal right-hand sides in Win7/Modern style when in compact mode
  • Some issues noted with Touchpads and scrolling:

Hello, is the update that should be released today on October 7th already there? (Automatic update function has not yet arrived.)

Rearranging Start11 pinned apps is wonky. I'm using the Windows 11 theme, centered, and when I try to move arrange icons they don't go where they're supposed to and rearrange.

Installed Start11 RC1 today. Easy to install, use and configure. Appreciate being able to move the taskbar to the top (works better with multimonitor configuration). One problem: with taskbar on the top, the control flyout gets cut off on the top. Using the latest Windows 11 build (22000.194) on a Lenovo Yoga 9i.

One more thing I've noticed: the user's name is the username, not the user's actual name, next to their picture. It would be nice to have a choice as to username, first name, or full name. Personally, first name would be preferred. It makes it more casual IMO.

Hi

Im very disapponted that the start icon reset does not work .

I have 1) updated from 0.55 version and    2)  also separately  uninstalled / reinstalled, ( and rebooted each time )

The update version did show the changed icon once after reboot , but it reverted back when first clicked !

Please advise , I have not checked other features as I stopped at this error !

Of course this is with the start menu fixed to the left.

Regards

I am using Windows 11 .194 version  from original beta release 2- 3 weeks ago , not from 05/10/21

Thats not expected.  As long as the taskbar buttons are aligned to the left the button should be replaced by Start11 just fine.

Do you have any other software running which might impact explorer and is this on a primary or secondary display?

Hi

I have Truelaunchbar mobile version , shortcuts icon , sitting away from the taskbar , but just above the start menu icon .

I have now moved the shortcuts icon to  furthest side away from start menu , but then new start icon stays on for 2 clicks and still disappears !

I only use one monitor display

Perhaps a problem ?

If you uninstall it for a test, reboot, do you still see the issue?

I noticed when you don't use a custom start menu button (when you align the start menu to the left) there is a blank space on the left side of the start menu that if you click it it opens the win11 start menu... very annoying... doesn't give you this space when you use a custom icon.... I'm on the RTM build of win11 (.194) and it shows on my 1440p display and 1200p display, the icon moves to the right a little when you disable the custom button and the space it creates makes this issue happen. (and even half the time when you use the standard win11 icon when you click directly on the start menu button it still opens the standard windows 11 start menu)

Space on the left side of the button and general non responsive with standard win11 icon:

No space and always opens right with custom icon:

Please fix this asap... really breaks the start menu and I don't want a custom icon on my taskbar for the start menu...(and I have to use the custom icon for now because of how broken the non custom one is...)

Also the universal application list on the win7 style menu opens up once semi cutoff behind (or infront) the start menu at times, and now refuses to open when I click it (the default option for this where it comes out as a list) I noticed this doesn't happen if I hover over universal applications and only happens when its clicked on... Only way to get the list to show up again if I click on it is to close and reopen the start menu and make sure I dont click and just hover...

Working but cutting off (when hovering):

Broken after clicked on:

I love the visual changes you guys made to this but you broke some major features along the way....

Hello Sean

The mobile version of Truelaunchbar is not "installed" but free running.

On removal of it  , inc startup folder entries in Windows 11 , the start menu icon on your program still changes back to the original.

There is no other similar auto start process  apart from Curtains

Is there a way to disable/remove the 'Recently installed' section that's at the top of the Windows 10 style menu? I'd like to get rid of it and have the 'A' section at the top instead.

Windows 11 Professional 21H2 22000.194

Start Menu Style is selected Modern style.

1) When Start button is not aligned to the center of the taskbar and Start button is not customized,
If clicked outer part of Start button, sometimes Windows 11 default Start menu appears.

2) If click the Modern UI Applications in the quick access shortcuts list, sub menu does not appear.
It only appears on mouse over. But sometimes it doesn't appear even when I hover over it.

Hi

Seems "Curtains" has "apply icon to style" set which overrides the Start Menu 11 setting for its own  icon change .

If removed function is back to normal !

Please remove Curtains.  It does not work on Windows 11.

Currently no, but I am sure we can see about adding an option for that.

Triple monitor setup

Resize taskbar to big and medium work, but when going to small only primary monitor goes small, the 2 side monitors icons go small but bar stays medium.

Clicking on those links wasn't supported before I think, they have always been mouseover only so clicking actually did nothing for you.  Changes were made to handle mouse opening things and it seems there was an unintended consequence.  This will be addressed in a future update.  Thanks for letting us know.

With regards to the start button, it looks like there is a 1-2 pixel gap on the left of the start button which activates the Win11 menu BUT does not animate the start button as it isn't clicking on it.  This is bypassing Start11 as it works on the button.

We can address this in a future update.

Does this happen without Start11 as we shouldn't be impacting the taskbar autohide in anyway.
