Fences on 4 monitors - turn a monitor off and all Fences rearrange. Permanently

Fences and multiple monitors

I bought a new computer with four monitors. I pulled the Fences profile from my prior computer. Now, when I turn a monitor off, all fences rearrange. Permanently. So all Fences have to be dragged to the correct monitor.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

a Couple thing here ..

1 - Multi Monitor issues -  https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#multimonitor

2 - and you will need to Create a new Snapshot backup image for this new PC set up

with the 4 monitors . a snapshot will reset your Fences back right again .

See if this work for you and let us know ...

Did you set up fences the way you wanted to be for all monitors

and create a 4 monitor snapshot , does the snapshot work ?

if not can you post a video back here showing your issue

with all that was mentioned above to do first.

That will help us better .

Thanks

Also need to know the versions

1 - Windows version ( full numbered version ) use winver.exe for that info

2 - Fences version - go to about in Fences app for that info.

I created a snapshot and when I turn the monitors off, nothing is memorized. Everything ends up on one monitor.

1st, to avoid this issue altogether, it's best to let Windows manage monitor power-offs as it is not as destructive to the desktop when done:

2nd, if you manually turn off a monitor, Windows itself will move everything to the remaining monitor(s).  When you turn them on, and things are not as you like, you need to manually restore a snapshot - its not automatic:
