I'm too 'drunk' to describe it at the moment.....but I'll post a 'horror' pic tomorrow......what were YOU doing in September 1973?.....

I believe I was trying desparately to adapt to my first few weeks in secondary school. (Grade 9). All I wanted to do was get through the day so I could do what I really wanted..... my hockey practice.

In September '73 I had just left the Ooga Booga Bead Band in the redwoods of Humboldt County and was headed for NYC to seek fame and fortune (well, fortune, fame was to be avoided ) so I spent the entire month visiting friends along the coast to say goodbye. I'd decided I had to get married and have kids so I figured I'd go to New York to make a bunch of money and then move back to the Pacific Ocean side of the continent to settle down and raise a family. My plan got accelerated when I got to Carmel and found out a stained glass maker had moved out of Cannery Row and they were holding the shop trying to get in touch with me to see if I'd open a new one.

My leathersmith buddy talked me into it so I did, building a new stained glass shop in the 'Crafts Center' on Cannery Row. Within a few months I was married, bought a house, had a child on the way, and was a shopkeeper, plus, someone traded me a vintage cadillac for a custom window. September '73 was a memorable month for me. It was like an odyssey leading from one life to another.

Was probably still confused in my new school. I switched to a new school on 3rd grade. I remember being sad and confused and nobody I knew.

I think that was the year I spent some time dangling by my hair halfway down a rock cliff... my climbing instructor forgot to tell me to tie my hair back. I finally had to tear it off (it was pretty tangled in with the rope. After that year, I had short hair for way too long and never went climbing again.

not my favorite year at all.

1973....

babling happily away all day long, playing with my soft toys and I might have already graduated from my potty training (born 1970).

This month in 1973...was just starting junior high school...keeping my eyes on the TV for returns of POWs, as well as some Watergate news. Mostly just enjoying being a teenager with my friends while growing up in paradise. oh...and celebrating my birthday too!

btw...should anyone need a jog of their timeline memories, check this site out http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973

I was starting Kindergarten. Dad Dropped me off at the front door and I did'nt want to go, so I started crying. Dad said it was going to be okay but I was'nt buying it. The Teacher led me into the class room and of course i was still balling my eyes out. She sat me down and said "I know what you need", she walked over to her desk, reached down in a drawer and out came a TastyKake Chocolate cupcake. Within a snap of the finger I put the plug on the waterworks and thought to myself that school might not be that bad after all
