WindowBlinds Crashes Over and over when Progress bars are showing.

Window Blinds crash over and over and over again for the entire time a progress bar is showing.
The crashes happen so rapidly that I cannot disable window blinds ..
If I am lucky I can cancel what ever process the progress bar is about ... unloading window blinds allows me operate normally.

Also window blinds does not crash if only one window is active when a progress bar starts.
It only seems to occur if you have multiple windows open or attempt to open a second window during the progress bar motion.

I have a large 28" display and I always work in multiple windows:

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Is the issue only happen with specific Windowblind style? Does the issue happened with any styles that come with Windowblinds.

Thanks

Thank you for the reply. I just completed some tests with different skins. The problem occurs  with all the skins I tested.

My Favorite Theme which is Atheros ( a Master Skin )  and with the built in skins Acrylic, Corporate, Diamond.

For this test I used the applications  "MultiPar"  and "GoodSync" which have progress bars .

Try this, run a search in your File explorer and see if the progress bar appear or crashes happened.

Hello,  The progress bar in the search field does appear,  and it does not cause a crash (but the header seems misaligned.

I am wondering if it has to to with the 4k display and high resolution I am running. 3840x2160.

Things like Acrobat reader .. the title bar is all weird. and trying to move the window does not work. ( I can of course exclude the app)

I am running Windows Blinds, Start10 CursorFX and "8GadgetPack (which is not from stardock but  it brings back windows & Gadget platform and might be relevant to this issue.

I am suspecting that I might be a unique case. None of this information seems to be particularly helpful.

I am running on 4K Monitor too. I don't have crash issues on progressbar. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

Hello. I uninstalled Not only WindowBlinds but CursorFX and Start10 as well.  I ran the purge script as elevated user. rebooted.

Downloaded JUST  window blinds and installed it. Activated it  and rebooted.

I ran the same test. with just Multipar (creating a par set)  and brought a windows explorer window up.

Windows blind immediate began crashing (Although not as fast as before) It would only crash as long Multipar was not the foreground app. Once I changed the focus to another window the crashing began.

I have not yet  installed Start10 or CursorFX so we can rule those out.

Just to be on the safe side  I also uninstalled the 8gadget pack just to see if that was causing the issue.

And no.. it is uninstalled and the issue still occurs.

Hello,

I tried multipar on my system and there was no crash. Please try Cleanboot to see if other program is conflicting with Windowblinds : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#cleanboot

Try that and report back.

I logged in as another admin user and the problem does not occur.

So  apparently it has something to do with my profile.

Hopefully we can find out what it is without having to recreate the profile.

Re-setting up dozens of programs is not something I relish.

Thank you  for your time.

That crash is shown as a dll unloaded situation which should not happen when WindowBlinds is running as the dll would remain in process.  This would suggest something is forcing the dll to be removed from memory.

Looking again at my event log.
