Every row in fence are forced to have 5 icons.

I've been having this problem for a while now and it persists through reinstallations of windows. Whenever I add icons to a fence they will go off screen if the fence is smaller than 5x1, forcing me to only have fences of 5x1 or bigger.

For example:

if X is an icon and the fence is represented by brackets

If I have 6 icons I want in a 3x2 fence it would do this:

[X,X,X]X,X

[X,     ]

Instead of what I want, which is:

Fences bigger than 5x1 work as intended with the icons shifting based on the fence's size.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Is the problem still happening if you set the icon size to Classic Icons? If yes, please post a screen capture of this issue and post it here.

Thanks

Yeah, classic icons didn't fix the issue, I've tried all the other options in the right click menu as well with no luck.

Need a screenshot of the issues.

Dunno if you have done this, but for me it's as simple as sizing the fence to hold 3 icons across.

Just as Red said. If you are having icon size issues hold down CTRL and spin your mouse wheel to resize the icons.

It does seem to have to do with the size of the icons, this however would mean every fence needs to be of the same size as well. The issue still persists, the only difference is I control the size of the fence but not the size of icons with this fix.

Image where 1 icon won't follow the sizing of the fence:

As stated I can resize the icons but the problem with that is that to make a fence that is 2x2 with 4 icons visible those icons have to be massive, which means the fence is also massive.

Hello,

But, I don't have that issue on my system. Please refer to my video below. Those icons rearrange itself smoothly

Would like to sugget to try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just to be sure, re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall it, reboot again. Retest and report back.

Thanks

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.
