Unable to move icons with Fences Installed

from Stardock Forums

I just upgraded my laptop and downloaded and installed Fences.  After the install my desktop could not be moved.  I disabled all the auto-sort options and still not luck.  Uninstalled it the icons could move so I reinstalled as an administrator and the icons would not move again.  Tried reboot and no luck so I uninstalled again rebooted and everything is fine. 

Never had this issue before so any ideas would be helpful

There is a setting in Fences to lock the icons.  Make sure it is disabled.

 

Right click the desktop, hit view, then uncheck lock fences.

Thanks but that does not work....it's not an issue of not being able to move a fence it is that the icons are lock to the desktop and I can not move them anywhere.  The Fence move just fine but all the icons are locked.  so when I uninstall and reboot I can move the icons on the desktop anywhere.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling. Make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot and retest. Report back here.

Unfortunately it did not work...same issue.  I can create a fence and move the fence around (and any icons in the fence) but any icons on the desktop are locked and any icons in the fence are locked and cannot be moved.

1) Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

Are you running Open Shell or any other Start Menu enhancement outside of Stardock?

I have the same issue. I can move the icon but as it gets near the fence I have created it disappears and goes back to its original place on the desktop. 

Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.19045

Fences 4.0.7.2

I have done all the above suggestions from support but nothing. It seems to have started from my upgrade to version 4  from 3.

I have the same issue. Very difficult, if not impossible to move icons.
