Working Codecs in Windows 10 64 bit with latest update package

Hi all,

I just wanted to post a quick message letting those know who are having problems with older dreams needing an MPEG2 codec on Windows 10.  I got mine to work after wrestling around with it for about a week.  I am using Deskscapes 10 beta.  I like all the new options, but it often freezes up when trying to change dreams with multiple monitors.  I have not had this issue, once I cleaned up my codecs.  

I am using the klite codec pack MEGA.  During installation, I did a standard automated install and agreed to allow the program to uninstall other conflicting codecs, like CCCP, windows media codecs, as I think they conflict with Klite.  During installation, I also checked any box I saw that referred to MPEG2.

After installation, these dreams started working again :)

The main one I was having problems with was by Stardock (Forever Frost)  My personal favorite as well as Dryscape.  Both are working now.

No problem.  Just got the blackhole dream to work by using the directshow EVR.  I am experiencing freezes still though.  It might have something to do with changing dreams that are requiring different codecs or multiple monitors or both.  Not sure. 

I do know that sometimes dreams become static (non-animated) when using the deskscapes interface, whether I am chaging dreams or not. There is lag for them to switch like a minute or so and sometimes they never switch and remain still.  

I usually only use two dreams anyway- so I am happy it's working again.  Thanks for the updates!

Thanks- I will purge and reinstall when I get a chance today.  Dreams are working fine now, I will see if this purge will help with the UI issues I am having.

I was using the bottom one too, but blackhole by carguy, would not work with that one.

Ok- I did all that.  Still have a problem with VMR-9.  When I switched to that both of my dreams (I run dual monitors) were overlayed on top of one another and the screen was flickering.  I changed back to EVR and it didnt fix it.  Rebooted with EVR enabled and it is working again.

Just also noticed that dreams are pausing on the monitor that does not have a window maximized or full screen.  I turned that option off for now to have dreams running all the time and it is working again.
