How to add Windows Control Panel as a shortcut

I used to be able to do it but I've completely forgotten.

Windows 8.1/10. From Start8/Start10 right click "Control Panel" -> "Show on Desktop" -> Control Panel icon appear on desktop -> Drag Control Panel Icon to Docks. (Not sure if this works on Windows 10, but confirmed work on Windows 8.1)

Thank you,

I'd explain but we don't seem to be able to post images so I doubt I'm articulate enough to explain without a screenshot or two. Still, here goes. I've got the Control Panel open in front of me and when I drag it over to where my dock is it doesn't attach to it. Usually, if I'm trying to attach a particular folder to the dock this method works i.e. open the folder so it's on display then drag it over to the dock where it will attach itself. Thanks for sticking with me btw.

Need to know more..

1) What OS you are running? Win 7, 8.1 or 10?

2) If its Win 8.1 or 10, do you have Start8 or Start10 install?

Thank you,

Control Panel icon appear on desktop -> Drag Control Panel Icon to Docks.

Thank you,

I have my Start10 to look like the standard Win10 style. That might be why I'm having difficulties. Of course, I have no idea how to make Start10 look the way yours does but if I could I think my problem could be quickly solved. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Open Start 10 and switch the menu to Windows 7 mode then your start panel will look the same with control panel on it.

start 10

@AzDude

To reiterate, I didn't have the regular Start10 menu open - I had Start10 to look like the standard Win10 Style. Thanks for the input though AzDude.

Hello,

If The control panel do not appear on your Start10 Right panel you will need to turn it on.

Start10 config windows -> Configure -> "Control Panel" drop down menu. Choose "Display as a menu" that should make "Control Panel" appear on your Start10.
