Start10 settings file detected as trojan by Windows Defender?

C:\Users\$user$\Start10Ctrlpnl\ControlPanel.settingcontent-ms was just detected as Trojan:O97M/DPLink.A by Windows Defender.

Is this a valid Start10 file (checking since it is not under the program Stardock\Start10 folder)?

Any idea why Windows Defender just today decided it is a trojan?

Hello,

I have forwarded your problem to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

For your info. I have no such detection, but I am using Bitdefender AV and Comodo Firewall 10. So I can't really tell why Windows defender detected as trojan. Need Stardock to confirm.

Please be aware that the Support Desk is Closed for Summer Vacation will be back July 9th,

Those files exist because Microsoft broke how we searched for control panel settings files, so we split them out from the master file they still have.

There was a recent scare about how setting-ms files could be abused and apparently whilst MS the OS provider believes they are not a problem, MS the AV company believe they are!

They are not trojans, they are literally links to open the MS settings pages on the right pages as Microsoft themselves shipped with Windows 10 until about last November I think.

I found this thread too, apparently they are now flagging their own OS files too : https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/8w1x51/has_my_device_been_compromised/

Getting the same thing here......  see virus scan images below....

Should we remove Trojan:O97M/DPLink.A ??

Or leave it alone/ignore?

Thanks for any help.
