Yet another Multi-Monitor problem

I am running Fences 3.0.8.1 on Windows 10, which has all updates applied.  I have a Microsoft Surface Pro with two external monitors.  Monitor 1 is the Surface Pro monitor, which is disabled in this configuration.  Monitor 3 is set in Windows as my primary monitor, with a resolution of 2560x1440.  Monitor 2 is set as an extended display with a resolution of 1920x1080.  I situate all Fences on Monitor 3.  When I reboot, all Fences go to monitor 2.  When I check the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences\Settings\PrimaryMonitorLast, it is set to "\\.\DISPLAY2".  I then change it to "\\.\DISPLAY3", as advised by the FAQ on this subject.  When I reboot, the Fences still go to Monitor 2, and when I go back into the registry, the entry as reverted back to "\\.\DISPLAY2".  How do I get Fences to consistently appear on my primary display?

Thanks.

Jon

As a further update on my setup, I do have "Store my Fences' position on a per-screen-resolution bases" checked.  I also now realize that I have left out some information about the monitor usage.  Sometimes in between bootups, I will use the SurfacePro stand-alone using its own display, which is Monitor 1 (disabled) on the multi-monitor setup.  The Fences, of course, show up fine on the internal monitor, but when I reboot with multiple monitors, the registry entry still says "\\.\DISPLAY2".  I even tried reconfiguring my monitors so that the 2560x1440 monitor is Monitor 2 (but still the primary monitor) and the 1920x1080 is Monitor 3, but the Fences still show up on the 1920x1080 monitor.

Basically what I want to do is have the Fences always show up on my primary monitor, regardless of what number Windows assigns to it.  Is this possible?

Thanks.

Jon

Jong2,

The best advice we can provide is to have a few manually saved snapshots that you can restore based around what monitor configuration you have at any given time.

Sean,

Thanks.  I will give your suggestion a go.  Is there a command line option to restore a named snapshot that I could make a shortcut for so that I won't have to go into "Configure Fences" each time I boot up?

Thanks.

End of jong2's quote

There is not but I am advocating for one.  I will log your request as well.
