WindowFX annoyance...

Can WindowFX be 'tought' what parts of a window to apply shadows too? If you are running WindowBlins and the skin you are using has some transparancy in it, WindowFX will skin the window and ignore the transparancy.

Example with WFX shadows enabled:

Example with WFX shadows disabled:

It would be great if WFX read the coordinates of the transparancies from the WB skin. Not sure on how easy that is to do but I even thought of the name. You can call it 'Smart-Shadowing' or something like that.

In the example you gave just exclude 'taskmgr.exe' in FX

yrag, unfortunately it happens to every window that WB skins with transparancy. In any case, I like the shadows on my taskmgr.exe!

Yeah..it would be a real pain to do it that way...maybe somewhere along the line they will incorporate that in it....let's put it on our Xmas list

Unfortunately, that seems to be a side effect of the bitmap style shadows that WFX uses in the 2.0 series. It appears that the shadows are drawn patterned on a square window. There is a configuration setting in the shadows dialog (adjust for shaped windows), that helps a bit, but it doesn't work for the more complex windows, and you can see the shadow offset behind a translucent window or menu when it's enabled.

I'd like to see WFX include (as an option) the ability to use the dynamically created shadows that were available in the 1.x versions. Although really complex windows could cause a performance hit, it followed the window shape exactly (including cutouts, etc.) and for most skins, the performance was fine.
