On open of saved group, receive "This file does not have a program associated with it..."

xlsx file association issue

Hi, Windows 7 Enterprise, I'm a local admin, receive above message when opening a saved group of xlsx files.  the default program is set to excel 2016, i also reset the file association as well. there are no other programs associated with xlsx. I installed as administrator and have the groupy service running with a local admin account.  Any ideas?

Thank you!

I had a similar problem while being set up as the admin on my pc. Try opening the saved preset by clicking on the 3 dots on the top of the bar in an open window and select “save group” then “manage saved groups”.

Open the saved group in notepad and look at the value of "RunElevated”. For me it said "RunElevated=1", if yours says the same thing change the value of "RunElevated=1" to "RunElevated=0". After doing that it worked for me.

That did it.  Problem Solved.

You’re welcome! I just had this problem and one of the support staff noticed that that setting seemed odd so I edited the value to 0 and to my surprise it worked!

Support staff- Is there any reason why "RunElevated=1" would be used instead of "RunElevated=0”? If not, would it be useful to release a minor update to hardcode "RunElevated=0" so that way admin users don’t encounter this error?
