Conflict Stardock Central-Component Manager?!

Conflict Stardock Central-Component Manager?!

On my version 1.20 CM there is a 3.99 Windowblinds available. The latest on Central is 3.96.
So I downloaded 3.99 on my system through Component Manager. But is refuses to install because it says it detects a Stardock Central app.
In CM I cannot install.
In SC I cannot download and install.

What's up?

Jeroen

Not at all impressed with SDC .... dumped mine recently and switched back to the trusty CM!
Too erratic....
And I've just renewed my membership .... bummer! >

wombat...I find SDC quite good, though, as with any on-going proggy development, it pays to keep it up to date.
I kinda like the way it can tell it's old and updates itself....sorta like picking yourself up by your own shoe-laces...

No idea, werewolf, just followed instructions from Stardock, downloaded newer vesion, re-registered, and it worked.
Wombat_1, I was only using SDC cos CM may (will?) be discontinued soon.

CM is going to be 'retired' soon. CM users will have to move to SDC then.

I'm not so sure about the self update. It may be convenient but I would like some indication of what its updating. Every auto-update feature on my pc is turned off. I like to control things myself and, if required, take a backup before installing anything.

Yes, the Component Manager will be discontinued soon. If you are having problems:
Please make sure that you are running the most recent version, which is located at: http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentralrc1.exe
Then, close and reopen it to run the auto-update feature to make sure that it is the most current version.

Next, go to Tools>edit Stardock.net account

Make sure that the password field is filled in with the correct password. If it is not filled in, or you are not sure if it is correct, please go to: https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?cmd=SENDPW and use the lookup to have your password emailed to you.

Other reasons why it won't login:
1) you are using a different email address than what you registered with.
2) the nick that you are trying to register with is already taken and SDC is giving you an incorrect error.
3) you are using a firewall, proxy or ad blocker that is interfering.
4) you did not complete the email confirmation during the registration process
