synthetic population growth - whats that?

i am not able to figure out what this value changes

Hello,

Ok first of all i am playing a synthetic race :cylon: which means i have no food and no population growth ( because of that i set farmer to -2 and fertility too)

So I am asking myself what is synthetic population growth, the green symbol with a person and a "+", i am Robots so i build my people there is no growth!

Why does this synthetic population growth value even exist? and what is it changing? i cant figure it out.  :|

I was not able to find something in the internet about this value (maybe the translation is wrong i play with german language) but would be nice if you could help me, thanks.

Maybe it's the translation but synthetic population growth means you build it.

as robots you can start a production which increases your population by "2". but thte synthetic population growth doesnt increase the amount of people build by this production

so there the population (the green symbol person head) and the synthethic population growth (green symbol person with a "+" next to it)

synthethic population growth could be the max. population you can hold at a planet but i am not sure

I think it is referring to the max level of population.

( because of that i set farmer to -2 and fertility too)
End of quote

Hmm... So shouldn't the Fertility penalty/ bonus effect the Assembly Project to avoid having this exploit available in race creation?

could you give a screen shot.

that way we could compare what you see with what our screens show when we use a synthetic race.
