Kona

Play around with it, open up some of the ones you like (DTX themes) and see how they put them together. Ask questions when stumped or wondering about something, definitly if you are wondering if it can do X and if not see if you and some others can brain storm possible solutions, it all helps everyone

That is my next silly human trick, my wife ordered a tablet so I can wait for it to start with my graphics, so now I can start playing around with bar designs and such I;ll be right there with you learning step by step !

kona....not everyone at themeXP.org is evil and/or nasty.....just a few...but like with anything, the bad eggs just seem more memorable, clouding one's opinion unfairly.
If you like styles, use them.....but just remember that some of the skins just 'may' be of dubious origin.
Keep a lookout and perhaps there will be less...

Well, I'm sure there are some 'evil' people at wincustomize too, we just have admins

I experienced that prejudices the other way round yesterday at another site. Stardock / Wincustomize = evil, making some money doing skins = bad, no matter how many free skins were and are done by the same authors. Having another opinion as the site admins and even making them aware of some facts they have overseen (if by purpose or not)= deadly sin.

Never run from evil, confront it with good, always, it is the first to back down.

Sometimes I feel that way about this site: "Having another opinion as the site admins and even making them aware of some facts they have overseen (if by purpose or not)= deadly sin."

OH WELL
Back to the end of the line to await my punishment.

IPlural, I did authorize the Beacon ports. Thank you for asking.

I have denied permission to port my skins to msstyles in the past for the simple reason that I don't agree with TGT Soft's practice of selling a Windows crack as if it were a legitimate product. How they've remained in business, I don't know. But, it seems that many people in the msstyles camp don't understand copyright, and don't realize that they need permission to port something. Granted, TGT Soft isn't setting the best example there. So, I've given permission for a few msstyles ports. Maybe it will help spread the concept of permission.

From the looks of things, my apologies to those who do ask permission, whether you give permission or not, the ports end up being done. Certainly not by those who know the rules, but there is always someone out there who doesn't care about the rules.

Regarding the Corona skin, unless of course they actually are using Alexandrie's graphics, is that really a rip? Just taking a pulse here.

Pls Pls don't let bums like that cause you to stop makeing the "GOOD STUFF" hehe. I havent bought PixOS yet myself but only because I love toonXP too much to change it for now but hearing comments you might throw in the towel over wankers is truly depressing.

You make excellent stuff and I don't begrudge paying you for such work & I assume most here feel the same way.

Sounds like a few ppl are coming up with some ideas on how to help better protectskins and sets like yours from being hacked/ripped so pls don't give up!!!!

Adam I did a duck logo smashing an apple so that sauce it dripping between his fingers
and also one of an Orange that has dropped and smashed an apple to sauce and there are other apples behind it in its shadow cowering in fear, shivering

If you want to ake a look and you like either or both they are yours no strings attached, I still have to color them though, just an offer...

I like your work and personally, I like Adam Solly above Mac N Apple way more

This is the response I got when I emailed the author. It does betray a certain ignorance.

why???????????????
My Visual Style is not a RIP.
This pictures are maked by myself.
You can Unzip the Visual Style and compare his with mine.

Treetog.. and info on when the new pixos stuff will be added, and will it be something we will have to pay for.. I for one think you should put some new parts up with more icons and some other things and then charge 2.50 to 3.50 for it. I wouldn't mind paying that for more items that add onto this great theme.. just wondering..
Thanks

Still chasing the PixOS ripper.....the story so far....

Greg....

PixOS by Alexandrie has been ripped by luyi13. You can see the original here: http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=16257

That is the info from the Forum post.... http://www.themexp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4943

That's the info as I have it....

Yes, the Internet IS a big place, and we are hard-pressed to keep any sort of control of it....and I see you have about 50,000 members....[I just signed....couldn't remember my old account....now 'Jafo[Paul Martin]'...I know there is an outspoken anti-Stardock 'Jafo' floating around who knows exactly SFA about skinning...he grabbed that nick at Deviantart.com as well].
Wincustomize is over 600,000 members and counting....it gets hard to keep up, but there are some Skinners who are both good at their craft, well known, and often ripped, namely treetog/Alexandrie/Pixtudio.com.
Since they are a VERY common target it pays to keep up with their work so any rips are quickly spotted.
Paid-for skins and themes are BOUND to be a popular target as well....particularly from the kiddies who think everything must be free because their mums buy anything for them that isn't....

Anyway, if you can forward the ripper's details I'll follow it up.

Cheers,
Paul.

If you can inform me of the author's username (I do not have it since the work was removed), I can give you all the information I have on him or her (email address, and full name that was provided) but I'm not sure if you'll have any luck. We do try to ascertain as much as possible stolen artworks, however the internet is a vast place and no one can be expected to know all the works out there. The next best thing is a prompt removal, which we try to provide as quickly as possible. Sorry for this problem and, as mentioned above, if you can provide the username, I will gladly provide all details I have on the author.
