Edge and Task View missing from taskbar when Start10 running

Edge and Task View missing from taskbar when Start10 running

Running the release version of Windows 10.  When Start10 is running, once any application is run, the Edge and Task View icons disappear from the task bar.

If you right click on taskbar,Click on properties and uncheck (the Peek to preview the desktop)this will stop the problem!!

The box is unchecked by default and I tested turning it on and off with no success.

I'm running the release of windows 10 Pro. The 1.0 Start10 release exhibits this issue. For me its just a bug and clicking the Cortana icon brings both back in view. I did uninstall Start10 and tried another install.... I did the new install and the issue returned. Also, the Edge Browser locked up (maybe unrelated) ... I uninstalled and will wait for the 1.1 of Start 10... Its a great utility.... I'll wait till the bugs are out of the release though.

I thought 1.00 was supposed to be adressing this problem?

It persists :(

It should have been addressed.

Can you right click on Start10_64.dll in your Start10 install folder and see what day the file was signed please.

It says the file is Version 0.5.0.0, February 3rd 2015.

The version of Start 10 is 1.0 - is it possible I need to do a full uninstall as 0.5.0.0 sounds old.

Yes that's a very old build.

Did you install standalone or via SDC/ODM and did it ask for a reboot?

I would uninstall, reboot and then clean install a download from the store downloads.

Ok, downloaded from the store and the DLL is 1.0.0.0 now so Ill test it out and let you know if the icons are still disappearing.

Ok, no dice, it's still happening.

The exe in the file I just downloaded is still 0.5.0.0.

Tried 2 installers now and both the exe files (Start10.exe and Start10_64.exe) are 0.5.0.0 and Feb 3rd.

Those exes have not changed.  The dll is the one to check.

Ok, well the DLLs are up to date but the problem with the disappearing icons remains.

Are you using US English version of Windows 10 or other languages and is this the RTM build of Windows 10?

I'm using ver. 1.0 and am having the same problem with the Edge icon disappearing when I install Start 10.  When I uninstall Start 10 the Edge Icon reappears.
