Need some advice on how to post pictures here in forums.

I am wanting to start a thread entitled 'Tips and Tricks for new Players'. Something like this is probably better suited for our Wikia so this thread is really a request for information on how to do something, both here on this forum and also on the Wikia.

I want to post about the first 100 turns on what I do in game. I was going to post pictures of my first few turns with some screenshots explaining what I do. My way of gaming may or may not help anyone but I figure a few threads on helpful tricks is a good thing we can all enjoy and learn from. There are many really good founders with lots of play under our belts but we are FAR outnumbered by the amount of new players who are likely to be a bit overwhelmed by the amount of things to do on those first 100 turns or so.

With that said I am epic fail on trying to put up pics here. When i use drop box it 'links' the photo but will ask me for the size. Is there a preferred size using drop box that i want to post photos in?

Frogboy's threads like the Drengin wars are an excellent example of what I would like to do either here or on the wikia. Just a game with a few sentences on some steps (and screenshots)  I take to get rolling in game.

First, use Jing if you don't have it already to get screenshots or whatever.   A very nice easy program.

So set up a free dropbox account if you need, drag and drop the pix or whatever in there, then click the share button at the end of the line of your picture.   Copy the link, edit as above, then in your post click the image button and put the link into the top line and you should be good.

When i go to post the Image via drop box it always asks for dimensions of the picture. Is there a size (length by width) in pixels I should be using?

i just use dropbox myself it automatically saves and uploads your screenshots and i believe if you pres ctrl +screnshot it automatically creates a link so you just take the screenshot then click on the picture icon here and click paste
you need to change the last digit in the link to a 1 though ......dl=1

End of Larsenex's quote

I use drop box and don't put anything into the dimensions.  The pictures come out fine.  One important thing to remember:  the link information dropbox gives you will end in dl=0.  You need change it to dl=1 for the picture to show up in your post.  I had to learn that from androshalforc.

Edit:  And I see he beat me to it here.
