Internet shorcuts openning in maxed windows?

hey there folks. Does anyone know how I would change it so that .url (internet shortcut) open in a maxed window? I never browse in anything but maxed windows, and I have a link menu that I threw into the ObjectBar theme that I use, only problem is that .urls open in a regular ie window by default. I'd like to change that. (I know I'm kinda neurotic, but hey that's what customization is all about.)

Instead of making it a .URL, make it a shortcut (.LNK):
- right click => New => Shortcut
- For the location, type the path to your browser (for example Explorer, but it can be what you want) in quotation, insert a space, then type the URL you want a shortcut to. Like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" www.wincustomize.com
- Press Next, and give it a name. Click Finish.
Now, the wizard doesn't give you all the options. So you'll have to go back and edit it:
- Right click on your new icon, select Properties.
- Under RUN, select "Maximized" in the drop down. Click OK.

Voila.

Also, a cool trick if you want that URL to open IE totally full screen, type -k after Explorer's path, like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k www.wincustomize.com

Note that if you do this, there won't be any close button. You'll have to type Ctrl+W or ALT+F4 to exit.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but... If you open ie full screen, hold down the shift key and click on the 'x'. The next time you open ie it should open full screen. I would think that would pertain to any url's as well (?)

hey there guys. Thanks for the suggestions, but I was talking about just maximized windows, not full screen. I tried the whole changing to an IE shortcut. It works, but it's a pain, since links are created as .urls by default.

Hey Frugus, my suggestion would work for maximized windows as well. The shift key tells IE to 'remember' what its last state was.
