Larsenex,

You got only half your story right, you need to site sources or people won't believe you.

Electronic Arts acquires Stardock Corporation for 300 million plus stock options.

AP - At 11 AM EST Michigan based Stardock Corporation CEO Brad Wardell along with EA CEO Andrew Wilson announced the plan acquisition for EA to acquire Stardock.  With this news they announced that Stardock's Michigan headquarters will be relocated to the former Maxis building in California.  With this news it is not expected to delay the release of Galactic Civilizations III expected out next month, however, may have an impact on other announced games currently in development.

Most fans and supporters of Stardock are greatly concerned with this news and how it will effect their favorite Stardock games.  The only immediate news that we have is that the Founder's Elite program will no longer include all DLC's but, will still offer any expansions that are produced.  No refund will be offered at this time, however, EA has announced an option to select one free game off of Origin, which the list will be provided with-in the next few weeks.

Other noticeable changes will be as follows, all Stardock games will be moved from Steam to Origin by May 1, 2015, all games produced after 2010 will be updated to be always online to protect copyright infringement, and modding will be limited to EA approved mod's only.  More information is expected to be released in the upcoming weeks for the remaining games produced by Stardock.
