Unhandled exception when starting support tool

I have run the Support Tool successfully in the past.  

Starting yesterday, when I click "Generate Logs"   I get an Unhandled Exception Error:

details:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Stardock_Support_Tool.Tools..cctor()

 

and the support tool does not seem to ever finish.

Any ideas?

I have notified Brad Ather at Stardock support.

Please download and run the following tool:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/dotnet.exe 

Use it to install everything between 2.0 and 4.0 if missing. (See http://sd.stardock.com/zubaz/images/2012-04-25_1053.png )

If that does not work try this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 , install and run the application

Yes, tried that same result. (rebooting that is)

I have upgraded to .net 4.5.2, the tool shows that it is installed.

I did a repair install of .net 4.5.2 and rebooted, ran the support tool and got the same exception.

Should I try to roll back to 4.0?   Not sure how to do that.

 EDIT:

I actually did this...uninstalled 4.5.2, downloaded and install 4.0, rebooted, tried the support tool, still the exception.
