Galactic Civ question

I started with GC2 then each of the add ons.  I figure here is a better place to ask for trusted opinions.  Apology for the off topic post.  I can get GC1 for 10.00.  Do you think I would be frustrated more than able to enjoy it.  I know many of the cool things I love GC2 for are not there.  Graphics are not an issue, I still love frogger on the 2600. Opinions?

I enjoyed GC1 immensely, I first got Master of Orion 3 as my first experience with this type of game, but soon after that GC1 came out and I never looked back.  That being said,. GC2 was such a huge upgrade over GC1 that I couldn't think of going back and playing the first iteration.  Now I never had the inclination to play the campaign, maybe that could be enough to try it but other then that why go back?  The visuals and the game play are such improvements over the original that unless you are driven by nostalgia I don't see any reason to go back to the previous generation.

Yes I'd agree that GC1 was a good game in it's day but GC2 and it's expansions improved upon it in every way. So I wouldn't advise paying for GC1 if you already have GC2 and it's expansions it will just be a not as good version of GC2.

Thanks for the input.  I know I will continue to go back to GC2 because I can play it using my 3dmax models.

I startet with GC1 and still find it very good (sentimental reasons).

Although I prefer Twilight over GC1 most of the time.

they have a comparison of I II and III as far as features

if you can live with the fewer featurs then it would be nice to take a look at.

I guess for 10.00 you can't go wrong.  That will make my collection complete until 2029 and GC4 Holodeck version comes out.
