I know the website was down. I seem to have lost my Avatar. Its only 4.73 Kb and is in the 100 x 100 limit yet it says it does not meet the size requirements.
Is there an upload error that I am not aware of?
It looks like eveyone's Avatar has taken a vacation. The forum was down earlier today so maybe that had something to do with it. I asked them on chat, but they haven't responded yet. When they do I will post what I find out here.
They had a large multi-server failure earlier today. They have to bring up each server one at a time, and the Avatars are on one that hasn't been brought up yet. And Brad posted something on the Steam forum and they put something out on twitter as well.
We're still in the process of restoring things, so until everything is done there's going to be some issues here and there.
Hackers! Or a bacon icon was being added. Or it was avatar eating nanite bugs that are roosting in the servers and SD has to fight them off with bug spray 
This is good to know because I was trying to get on today after a appointment and couldn't log on.
