Log in Finger scan ability lost

Hi, just installed the wonderful Start 8 and feeling much better about my new laptop. What were windows thinking with windows 8, not good! I have one hick up, I can no longer use the finger scan on my laptop to sign in. How can I fix this please? Cheers

That will not be anything to do with Start8 as Start8 does not alter the login functionality of the OS in any way.
