Yeah, me too.
Right now, I'm using the default Luna theme and a random wallaper and a calendar on my desktop. Not worth sharing proudly with the world.

I'm in the middle of a new skin so my desktop looks really crabby - not something for public view I think

How do you make a snapshot of your desktop?
I'd like to submit a new skin and need to know how to get a shot of the start menu and the taskbar.

just clear off all the stuff you don't want to show and hit "ctrl-print scrn" This puts the image into the clipboard. Paste it into your favorite graphics editor, save it as a .jpg file and voila!!

someone who pushes the limits of their computer by using all the high end graphics apps, publishing software, games, video/audio editing stuff. Then are able to rebuild their computers when all that stuff crashes them.

ok, I guess this is the question thread for me cause I got another one.

I do not have a icon maker, but I have bitmaps of icons, it is as simple as changing the bitmap extention to an icon extention and then package them (of course it will only be one size) in icon packager? If I want transparencies to work do I use magic pink? Will that work on windows 98? If I can't use magic pink then what can I use for the transparentcies?

You really need an icon editor. There are plenty of free ones if you don't want to pay.

I do? I was hopeing to avoid that. I have so many programs on my computer already. I am trying to avoid becomeing a poweruser but it seems unavoidable.

What free programs are out there?

What was the question? Desktops? I haven't seen mine in months.

Sadly, the more you actually use your computer, the less of your desktop you see. I think that is why I've always been so iffy about wallpaper... I see it so rarely...

Also check out DHTML: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/

This is what my search came up with. I remember a few years back being very interested in Java and DHTML for using on my website. When I switched to a new machine I forgot to hop over the bookmarks.... Smething was called Javabrain something, a nice site with the actual scripts running as examples...did a search on that, no results

My desktop is in a constant state of flux, so any image that I stuck in my profile would be intensely misleading. ( The concensus around here is that my desktop is ugly).

Come on guys!!! Don't be afrian to show your desktops!!!!

And Lecrayon, I know what you mean. I had a link to the site before myself and lost it because I didn't back up the favorites folder. Now I can't find the site. And it was sooooo goooooooood!!!

Now I have a shortcut in my documents folder and click it to go to the favorites folder and save all of the links to a disk.
