Pretty sad that SD feels the need to remind people that they are not playing a final release.
What does that say about us as a community?
It says nothing about "us as a community". It is a message aimed at individuals, not the community as a whole.
If 1 person out of 100 go hulk-rage-smash because of a crash, then that does not reflect anything on us as a community.
Besides, such a message is fairly standard in beta nowadays.
Strange it brought smile to my face to see the Beta boiler plate again, maybe its because i played FE so much in Beta.
I think it's because of what they've seen with betas from other companies. Have you ever spent any time in the Blizzard beta forums? It's a jungle. People think they're playing the final release.
What exactly is your point?
I just felt it was odd that SD felt the need to add qualifying language. It's blatantly obvious that we're playing a beta.
This is really the only game forum I visit, so I guess I wasn't thinking about the type of people Darxim and Heavenfall mentioned above.
Experience has shown that some people miss the blatantly obvious. This message is for them. Also, it''s true, so why not say it.
