Understanding Message Board Time

If you do not get a responce in a few minutes don't get mad... >

The message board is not like IM and if people do not know a answer to a question or just don't have time to look at the thread, it is not a offence to you.

I have to admit, I feel unwanted when no one answers my post. But it still takes time to write the message, read the message, get to the message, then decide if you should answer.... the message.

So don't feel bad if there is no responce. Just have patients and wait.

It's mainly noobs that get frustrated. However it doesn't happen too often.

This board is one of the most civilsed that I read. Computing.net board is awful, all alt.fan groups I read are awful too.

It's nice that it's kept under control, and there's not too much junk or ill-manners on here.

Keep up the good work everyone.

And don't forget not everyone is in the same time zone - what's early evening there might be early morning here. Also not everyone spends every minute of every day looking at the message board! It only seems like it

This message board is full of good people. It's very rare to find bad behavior and compared to other message boards that's a real credit to this community.

In response to what planetmonkey said, i'll agree that a lot of other discussion groups/newsgroups ect are very unorganizedand can give you a sore head unless you check them every 2 seconds.

I'm new here so correct me if I am wrong but it seems like a lot of the 'members' know each other and it's like friends talking sometimes rather than people who don't really know each other well. (Of course not for me cos i don't know any1 here [yet..... ] I'm purely making observations)

i do "know" several of the others around here. it comes of spending a lot of time in the same place talking to each other

Duncan, it's not so much that memebers know each other (although many do), but more that we are all pretty friendly. You make a couple of posts, and people get used to seeing your name, and the next thing you know, they are talking to you like old friends. We're just nice here, that's all.

Duncan, if you are looking for an easy way to get to know some of the regulars, then try hanging out in some of the more informal (read off topic ) threads.

at the moment the most informal is the "msgboard chatroom marathon", a thread with the sole purpose of never going idle! just dont take it to seriously, and you should be fine

Feline: In case you haven't noticed, the "getting permission from apple" thread is going on the same path as the marathon.

/me is in denial
/me puts paws over eyes so as to avoid seeing this horrible site

i am trying to make sure the marathon reaches 2000 posts before apple reaches 1000. its a matter of pride, also i am not sure my remaining sanity could withstand aafuss's thread overtaking elf's thread

So, Joe....we gotta be like a Hospital and 'have patients'?

Knew I was doing something wrong.... Spell checker

Sometimes it nice just to talk to people and not really say anything and just read the threads.

Someone will get back to you soon or a later if you are patient.

Hay feline did you see the wallpaper Evolution 2 with the feline on it I though it look cool.

/me just finds Doreenitus to be a natural condition
after all, when you are thinking 6 different things all at once, you need multiple posts to describe them

Doreen - feline has stolen my record for the most multiple post in a row, you've taken my title away you kitty kat!

then we should be allowed to share the title!
after all, it is only fair.
also it would be unfair to remove doreen's title
