Splitting Army

How do I split my army

I am going through the scenario and have my starting 2 champs and then I found one.

Later I found another that did not want to join because I was with the guy I found. I figured just have him leave my army... However I am unable so split my army. This seems quite silly.

I dug around and found something that said click the unit head and then move him out. I tried clicking any icons I could think of and nothing changed.

For example I click on the left side of the screen where my stuff is collapsible  If I click on the unit under the collapsible I get a little > symbol but it does not appear to change anything. If I click on terrain then it simply un-selects anything.

Can someone help?

In the scenario all champions have to stay in Relias's stack. In the sandbox mode you can select the champion and then right click the map to move them out of the stack. Only thing I can recommend is loading a save from before you picked up the unwanted champion.

I assume you are talking about the campagine/scenario part of the game, I belive the developers made it so you cant seperate them in this part of the game becauase it is meant to be your little bands story etc. but you can add new soilders to the group and remove them sicne there not key charters for the group etc.

In the main sand box game you can seprate heros into other armys as you said quite easily. but in the campagine i think it would make the game to easy to win the game if you could. The heros don't get full xp altoghther in groups in sandbox (so there level slower grouped)  so you would be able to level them up faster if you could seperate them in the campiagn and it might over power the palyer to much in doing so etc.

i actully like the feature for the campagine my self since it makes the story feel more focused but i am glad it is not like that in the sandbox hehe :)

My first attempt at the campaign failed because i could not split my army.

It started when I fought the dragon a number of times and reloaded the game to the point before fighting the dragon. I did not realize reloading a saved game does not give you the game you saved! Only realized after spotting all my mana had depleted, somehow it remembered how much mana i used in each battle and deducted it from the saved game meanwhile duplicating all my heros.

I ended up with three pages of heros all with duplicated equipment which was nice, but with so many, it was just ridiculous and i had to start over.

Now i always make sure to put a couple of turns after any saved game before combat, then also i always exit the game before reloading that saved game, this seems to prevent any saved game 'editing' going on.
