Bit too nosey and personal for me this poll. They know who you are from your cookie and now they know your income...oh dear.

Never thought that the biggest group would be answer 5...

Well, if you have two professionals working, making $50,000 or more a year, that puts you in the '5' category.

Most of the couples I know have both partners with university degrees, and both partners working. Makes for a tidy income, especially when you don't have kids.

University degrees alone don't do it. I have two of them, and I'm still on the low end of the spectrum. It's the fact that probably a majority of the ppl around here have computer-related degrees and computer-related jobs. Pays more than an editor with two liberal arts degrees

Just think about us little high school grads. We can only get into the 4th catagory. Should have stayed in school.

Think about us unemployed people too. I have a computer related degree and plenty of experience, but I still can't get a web job.

Well I can say that Stardock is looking for people who know ASP/VBScript/SQL. Poor Pat is overwhelmed. Only requirement - must be physically here at Stardock (no remote computing).

hehe I'm w/ Fuzzy up there, I don't mind discussing my personal stuff such as income w/ my closest friends, but seeing a poll like this on a "skinning site" is alittle strange, but yes I know nobody needs to click on it, I just was puzzled by it myself...

I guess that is why there are only 147 votes there. I wouldn't consider group 5 rich though. Maybe ten years ago, but today in USA group 5 is about as middle income as it gets.

To put this in perspective, just about every Longshoreman (Dock worker) I know is probably in group 6 on their own income alone. No degree needed, just a strong back and connections...

Oh, if only we could just get our hands on a Stardock MasterCard, for about a month or two we can all live as if we had a $120.000 income.

I don't know where you live Bill, but all the real life friends I have in the US make around 30-35k and they consider themselves average salary. BTW, according to the US census bureau, the average household income in 2000 was $42,168 in the US.

So I guess you hang around rich people.

It has a lot to do with the average age of the people here, even with just a cost of living raise, it adds up.

No, I think it has to do with most people here being Stardock customers.
Lets face it, if you got money to buy all the cool computer toys, you got money period.
I'm sure the average salary is proabably very different at Lotsofskins or Skinbase.

Well... I live and work in downtown Philadelphia which I am guessing probably pays a bit more than average USA. But the thing is it costs a bit more to live here so I don't feel that rich

I guess everything is relative!

Think about us poor students. I make 10% of box number one a year.

Bill, I wouldn't bet on Philly being above average. I made less working in Center City than I do out in the suburbs now.

Wait a second, let me get this straight, you guys actually get paid to do your work. Here at Stardock we have to pay for the privilege to work here. I need to go have a talk with that frog guy!

People get *paid* for working? I thought that poll was how much you paid to work. What's going on here? Ok, T-Man, I'm with you! I'm going to go to the Frog and demand that I no longer have to pay for his jet fuel!
