[Suggestion/Bug] I can't estimate how much damage an enemy unit will cause my units

Right now, I can get an idea of how much damage each of my units will cause to the enemy by viewing the tooltip. However, I can't predict how much damage an enemy might cause to my units. I know their Attack and I know my defense, but there's always a range of damage which isn't evident. Perhaps this intentional, and I don't know that I need to know exactly how much damage a unit might cause, but having a rough idea would help strategically.

Am I right in the following equation to calculate damage?

Attack - Defense +/- some variable based on chance and/or the weapon

An easy way to show damage from an enemy would be to display the damage range as part of the unit's attributes, and then if you selected the enemy unit you could highlight over your units and it could show you.

Is there something I'm missing to better understand the mechanics? Would this be helpful to anyone else?

Yes, it would be great if you could select a unit, then select an enemy unit and find out the min damage (not counting dodge), max damage and average damage.  It would just require the UI to get the information from the game files and present them in a readable way.

Definitely want to see this. The damage/accuracy % tooltips are great, adding them for enemy units/abilities would be an improvement.

I'd also like to see spell accuracy and damage figures - they have the calculations in place, they just need to tooltip them. Right now I don't even know how good spell mastery is - seeing the % of success on debuffs and the damage ranges on offensive spells would be a great help.

Glad I'm not the only one who would like this info! I think it will become more important in the next patch when heroes are toned down and monster levels are increased.

I agree with you about spell mastery- I don't have a great understanding of that mechanic and what impact it really has yet. This info would be great, too!

Agreed, and again, especially with regard to spell mastery.  Enemies rarely resist my spells as it is, but I don't know whether that's due to my spell mastery or because they just suck at resisting magic. :)
