For US'ers only, which makes this petition pointless.

'Congress' probably pronounces 'Australia' as 'Ores tree ah' and thinks it's in Europe....so no....;p

I'll say. What good is it if only a select group benefits.

Nope. Same reason Snowy pointed out. If there were an international petition, I'd sign it.

Well that may be but something is better than nothing and since I live in The United States I thought it was a good idea. I think "pointless" applies to not doing anything at all. You all just sit by then. It's your choice. As the song goes: You don't know what you've got til it's gone.

Oh, I do realize that Snowman, Jafo, and Starcandy don't live in the U.S.A. so that's understandable but Uvah you can sign.

Point being the petition should include all or what's the sense in having it to begin with. The US of A is not the end all and be all of this planet. Last time I looked there were more than 170 countries living on this ball of dirt. What about them? They don't count?

Seems the majority here aren't from the US 8C

I didn't think this would just be a joke. It isn't a joke. That's what this forum has become.

The idea that The U.S. would become like Iran or China is not a joke. Don't forget that Stardock and W.C. are in the old U.S.A.

Have a nice day.

No, you asked a specific question, and the replies are exactly that - answers.

The explanation of a simple, blunt "NO" is THE FACT that many people on these Forums have no LEGAL connection with the US, its statutes, policies, or Congress.

I cannot VOTE. My 'opinion' is unrecognized/invalid.

The issue with petitions is their Legislative relevance.

Whether or not YOUR 'Congress' fucks up the Internet is outside many people's influence, no matter how RELEVANT the outcome.

Ya Rachel Maddow (msnbc) covered it during the first 15 minutes or so of her show tonight if you want to catch a rerun of it.  Maybe more, sounded like she was moving on so I flipped it, too much of any of those editorial news shows contributes to my brain rot.  Anyway it was interesting.

SOPA/PIPA has lost a lot of credibility and has been pulled pending further revisions. The petition, a good idea, turned out not to be necessary because the outcry from so many, more than expected, put the kibosh on the whole deal. News articles, though bias to some extent, did report that much.
