Buttons not working

Hi All,

Just downloaded WindowsBlind & a couple of skins. Everything bar one iratating issue works.

Initially on a restart my Min, Max, Close buttons work but after about a minute they do not. Even changing back to the default XP skin they do not work. It does this on all skins.

Is there a fix, workaround or is this an inherent problem with Blinds?

TIA

Keith,

Sounds like you might be using the unregistered, or shareware version. Some functionality is disabled.
If you have already registered, it might be a problem. Just reply and let us know.

Yup it is the beta8. I've registered on the site. The problem is that it is imtermittant. It will work fine for a while & then not.
The way around it at present is for me to go back to the default XP skin and apply, then re-apply whatever skin I want.
So it does work but bombs after a while. Like right now they will not work.

it's definitely not a restriction of the trial version

are you using an i-feel mouse? if so, try the following:

set windowBlinds to load on startup by using the option in the
windowBlinds configuration window.
un-check the 'start automatically' option in immersion desktop.
place a shortcut to immersion desktop in the startup folder.
restart windows.

this will allow id to start automatically, but after
wb has loaded, and should alleviate the problem.

if you don't have this mouse, or the immersion desktop software, are you running an internet utility called commonnames?

Standard setup here. Dell Laptop with PS/2 mouse & standard IE6 no other internet utils running. One thing I have noticed is when I sync my iPaq then I loose the use of the buttons. I don't think it is that though because a staff member of mine is also having the problem and he does not use a PDA.

Maybe you should give the list of your running applications to migellito. Maybe you have some sort of software that conflicts with WB...
Just press once on Control+Alt+Delete; if you're using Win2000 or XP, click on the Process tab. This will give you the list of apps running, even those you can't see.
