First Diplomacy v1.32 Replay posted -- 5v5 pro game.

I have just posed a replay of a 5v5 pro game for Diplomacy v1.32 that I played in tonight as "Hit Girl" (the superhero from the sweet movie Kick-Ass).  All of the players are pros and the teams were chosen in a player draft (pug).  This game also featured two opposing elite players, Auqia and [DT]Star Player.  If you're new to the game and want to improve your skills, this would be a good game to watch numerous times so that you can study what each player did and try to understand why.  The teams, in the order in which they were drafted:

(First Captain) Dwish, Auqia, SlowMotion, [_]-Itchynail, King of Kings (the guy whose name looks like a crown)

vs.

(Second Captain) Me (Hit Girl), [DT]Star Player, KL3MZ, Kre'fey, and Serak Warriors

Diplomacy v1.32 5v5 Pro Game

To watch the game you need to add the file to your "Record-MultiPlayer" folder which is in your Sins Application Data folder.  You can learn more about how to find that folder by reading the second post of this thread:

https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/363325

Once the file is in the right place, start Diplomacy v1.32, select Single Player, then click on Watch Game.  Tab through the different file types until you come to Record-MultiPlayer.  Select the game title and start it.

Interesting game. Thanks for posting it. I certainly learned a few things.

I found it to have several interesting sub-dramas in it.

I thought Star's use of the 'pause' from Slow Motion's attack was brilliant (he used it to colonize three worlds, while using his feed to build illums on his HW) and his use of micro-managed repulse to stifle the flak defense was also very impressive (let alone taking down to SBs in one grav well later). I wonder if SlowMotion really detested that dead asteroid between them. Not scouting the roid and Star's HW cost SlowMotion valuable time imo.

If you check the 1:00 hour mark Auqia had a ridiculous credit, metal, and crystal rating. I wish I could do even a fraction of his expansion routine. As I stated in another (now defunct thread) I think Auqia could make duct tape and a ball of lint into a good opening lead. But then the pressure from KLM and the near annhilation of Dwish forced him fleet up and though KLM was terminated eventually, the three fleets of Star, Serak, and Kreyfey were simply too much at the end.

The one conflict that perplexed me was Kreyfey vs orange. Orange went 5 mil labs early and got blitzed. Kreyfey snuffed the kodiak build with a triple sova rush (I assume embargoing all the way) that must have been a huge feed drain on Auqia and Itchy. By grabbing the roid from orange so quickly, it was a slow grind on orange's HW until Kreyfey went with Lfs and cut down the hoshikos. Having 5 mil labs and 1 frigate factory spelled doom imo.

Quite an epic match :)

LOL  All you had to say was 5 mil labs and kodiaks and I know who you are talking about without seeing him list who was in the game.  KoK....ever predictable.

Oh, yeah.  That guy would have been King of Kings.  He's famous for rushing to Kodiaks ASAP.  He's been doing that for ages.

Understood. It was just interesting to see it get stuffed by Kreyfey's sova rush. At that point he would have been better off knocking one lab out and getting a second or even third frigate factory while he got fed. Because the rate of building was too slow and the embargo was hammering him when he was down to one planet.

Auqia was masterful as always but I thought Star's reversal on SlowMotion was a thing of beauty (though I am sure the feed from HitGirl and Serak was instrumental as well).

Anyways wonderful replay.

They teach many of us a lot of things about the game.

Keep them coming :)

If your purpose is to study people and learn their tricks so that you can get better, it would probably be best to watch the game several times, studying each individual player's moves.  There's no way to take it all in in one or even two viewings.
