another curious question

I'm guessing that uploads are not reviewed on a first come basis and that some uploads submitted after other uploads could be approved before ones that were submitted earlier.

just checking.

If you are talking about uploading on the weekend then I would think the factor maybe the mods availability and the type of skin.  I think some skins require several mods to review.

I don't know if this answers your question but Philly is right. Wallpapers might be one of the categories that get voted on by as many as 3 mods.

That said, if I upload a wallpaper after you do, mine hits the gallery first because of my rank. If you're asking if the mods play favorites, I doubt it.

I don't know how the uploads queue works, or even if there is one.

I uploaded a blind yesterday and I'm seeing new items that were uploaded today, again I'm just curious how the process works, or doesn't work depending...

Were the other items windowblinds? All mods don't moderate all categories. It takes longer to check a blind than it does a wall or widget.

Also, how would you know how long the other skins were in moderation? You wouldn't. A skin hitting the gallery before yours may have sat in moderation for a few days before you uploaded.

"uploaded today"     Only the mods and the uploader have this info. Gallery appearance doesn't equate into upload date.

Also, if you'll notice, all of the skins that hit the gallery since 8/5 , except two, have been submitted by journeymen, bypassing moderation.

I totally forgot about Journeymen bypassing moderation which is probably the reason.

Jim shows a good understanding of the process. That really worries me. ;)

No one gets "preferential treatment". One might be the most obnoxious or sweetest member: His/her art however, is judged on its own merits.

Different queues exist for Masterskins, and another for rank Journeyman and above. Those holding those ranks are supposed to understand the quality necessary for that privilege and are expected to conform to those demanding levels.

I really think you all need to accept the fact that the Gallery Mods have the toughest and most thankless job on this site: It takes more than one Mod to judge skins and it takes time. Fact.

Those Mods must wish they had a wand that would go poof and all submissions would become 'Leonardo DaVinci' quality and no Moderation would be necessary... but that just isn't the case: They don't, they  aren't, and it takes more than one Mod and so, Doc prescribes tincture of patience.

the date the work is uploaded is the date that appears on the page.

guys, I was just wondering because of the inconsistency of dates. I'm not getting paranoid or feeling particularly abused and I believe that the answer to my question is NO, and that's okay. AND yes, I understand the process for master skin bypass. (I'm going on 8 years around these parts)

sometimes a question is just that and doesn't mean anything else but to understand something a little better.

I think the date changes on it once it's in put in the gallery.  I uploaded my Stealth Drone WB skin and it had to go through mod. I waited until it showed in the gallery, then uploaded the matching skins I made, but they all have the same date on them.
