Jetzt ist Schluß mit lustig , nicht nur das Bilder einfach nicht veröffentlicht werden aus irgendwelchen unbegreiflichen Gründen, es werden auch komischerweise irgendwelche User bevorteilt weil auf einmal alte Bilder von denen in der Liste auftauchen die älter als ein Monat sind. Jetzt werden noch neue Bilder die gerade mal 2 Tage bei euch online sind einfach wieder gelöscht. Ich dachte Ihr seit auf Bilder von Usern angewiesen um den anderen Usern etwas anbieten zu können aber mit scheint meine Bilder braucht ihr nicht und ich bin bestimmt nicht der einzige dem es so geht.

Ich ziehe wenn es so weiter geht in Erwägung alle meine Bilder selbst zu löschen.

I think he might be complaining that his work is 'disapearing' after a couple of days on the site...

This is of course due to people RATING it low and it not appearing and being hidden for most users, including himself, so he thinks the admins are deleting it in some way.

MADMETZI: Your work is not being deleted my friend, it is being 'filtered' for quality... by the users, that's all.

Hell Dragon is right. Click on "Account preferences" up there ^^^, login with your email address and password and scroll down to "Viewing preferences", then set "Show skins with this rating or higher" to 1 and you can see everything on the site again.

It's not a personal thing, but in order to save bandwidth there's a rating system in place which by default will show only skins with a rating of 5 or higher (or so).

Aside from that rating thing, this site also has a class system. If you're in the Citizen class (like you are), you cannot rate or see ratings.

But can you change the "show ratings" setting? If not, that may be because you're a Citizen as well (yeah, I know, it's a weird system, there's been a lot of discussion over it).

MADMETZ - it seems a lot of your wallpapers have been moderated by the admins. The ones that don't appear in the list anymore are no longer here.

There can be, and are issues with copyrighted images. For example, StarWars is Lucas Arts, and Star Trek is Gene Roddenberry [or his estate, to be more accurate].

Celebrity Photoskins have the issue of the true public availability of the photo image that is used....unless taken by the artist himself, it is the property of the photographer and permission should be obtained for its use.

Certain wallpaper submissions, although slipping through the moderation net on occasion, will not be deemed appropriate, and will be removed.

Uploading one or two Wallpapers to WinCustomize to spotlight your artistic talents is good. Uploading even a dozen or so of diverse subject matter and style is also good.
When the submission number reaches 79, the chances are that not all are likely to remain.

Wallpapers are seen as an adjunct to the themes and skins hosted, to compliment them, not to swamp the site, rendering WinCustomize a repository for walls to the ultimate detriment of the other sections....

Just a crazy idea, and Lord knows I couldn't help with this, but aren't there skinners all over the world? It'd be nice to have Wincusto more internationally friendly.. to reflect that. There could be German, French, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, and all other languages that people in this happy little community speak. Latin and Klingon don't count.

The wallpaper moderation process will ultimately be a great benefit to this site (imho). Although the skins are not moderated for artistic merit, I agree that the wallpapers absolutely should be. It would be a shame to end up with thousands of 'practice' Bryce landscapes and Photoshop swirlies which would make it difficult to find the work that stands out as a serious and accomplished artistic effort, or even just as an effective and pleasing desktop wallpaper.

No offense to any artist is intended and eventually it will become an accepted standard just like it did at skinz.org. This will motivate the newer artists to keep working on their design skills and make it more meaningful to have a wallpaper accepted. There are lots of sites on the net devoted to wallpaper images at all levels so its not like there's no place for someone just starting out to get feedback. Wincustomize is a "skinning" site which automatically implies a certain value system being applied to the work submitted here. For example, we do not accept photo skins, celebrity skins, etc.

In my humble opinion, I think the current moderation 'standard' should be raised... dramatically.

If we can post in EDIFACT, then can we post in EDI ANSI X12?
