As far as the search field in the start menu, in SKS click on Theme part details, then Address field, it is the Search field background in the Glassy Areas, and the defualt is 4, not 5 as listed.  Not sure about the others.

Going by your screenshot, the "how to" is listed below. If it's the search background described in your post, what Lightstar said is correct... <_<

left side - Edit Vista / 7 Explorer Parts> Folders Bar> Extra Settings> Background Colour

right side - Explorer Backgrounds> Active/Inactive Window> careful though....whatever images you use will be tiled  >_>

Yes, I did, but it was a .msstyles theme, not released in WB format (yet).  :)

PS.. The Stardock Diamond theme is not B/W Doc.  :P

Tom's old school and back in the day...when you walked five miles to school...in the snow...both ways, Litestep, Aston and VS skinners used notepad and a good hex editor to do what SKS does today. Still today, when I make the occasional Aston theme, notepad++ is what I use for creating the entire theme (no "skinning" program available from them yet) so some of you pups really got it made and don't know it.... <_<

There used to be a company also that made an application similar to SkinStudio for designing skins in .msstyles format, but they have since gone out of business.  SkinStudiio is the only fairly easy application around now that I know of for designing skins.

I know it was made by tgtsoft but not sure about the program name. Stylebuilder...maybe??? It's been awhile since I dabbled in VS. Wonder if they're patching Windows 7??? <_<

Yes, there is a UXTheme.dll patch out for Windows 7, and there is an application to design Windows 7 .msstyles out there somewhere, but for the life of me I cannot rememeber its name.  I tried it once, but if you're not a programmer it is really tough to figure out.  I'll stick with SKS and WB myself. :)

It was in its day, but no longer.  You cannot even get a serial number to unlock it any more unless you do it illegally.  Its WB like counterpart called StyleXP only worked on Windows XP SP2 and below also, and you cannot get a serial number for it any more either.

Ahaa...But I opened your B/W Diamond in "Tuneup utillities" with no fuzz @ all.......I really like that skin. A perfect B/W-Tech combo ! 5*

Oh yeah, I forgot about TuneUp Utilities, yes it will apply .msstyles themes with no problems. I think it only works in XP though, not really sure.  Think I'll check that out soon.
