So how fast can you go?

So how fast can you go?

Just curious, what speed are you connected to the Internet?

Have the recent changes at WinCustomize made the site seem faster?

128k ISDN2 (Soon to be upgraded to ADSL 512k)

And yes the site has become faster!

BoXXi - That's 8 megabit per second download, which is only 1MB, still, show me a server that can send that and I'll be impressed. Actually even with several transfers happening, I've never seen any more than 700kb/sec, but it's certainly a lot nicer than the 56k I was stuck on when I lived in the UK.

56k here and much faster loading, although considering that it's 5:30am, that might have something to do with it.

At the moment: 28.8 on a 56K modem! Thats what you get for living out in the sticks!

But in 2 weeks I will have a Satellite Connection! WOOHOO!! I cant remember off the top of my head how fast it is but it is fast

The best thing is, is that it is a 12 months trial run for Telstra (THE telecommunitcations company here in Australia!) and we get ALL (yes ALL!!) the equipment, Installation, and upto 1 GigaByte Download a month, ALL FOR FREE!!!!

/me has big grin on me face!

Try this link to test you connection speed to and from the servers: http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

I use it a lot and get around 150kb/sec to 200 on my cable.

Using a cable modem and while the site moves quickly, loading the message board can sometimes take a long, LONG *yawn, is it naptime already? Lemme make a pot of coffee to wake up now. Ooops, gotta load the washing machine. Hey, I forgot that plant needs repotting. Lemme wash my hands now and see if the message board is up.*

Of course this is a teensy exageration but there are times it seems like this. Most other parts of the site are doing nicely though.

I have cable at home: fast download, slow upload:
download: 5000 K/sec.
upload: 84.3 K/sec.
Which is about 635 kb/s downlaod and 10,5 kb/s upload.

At work, on DSL:
download: 1342.4 kilobits / sec (167.8 kilobytes / sec)
upload: 335.9 kilobits / sec (42 kilobytes / sec)
Slower download than at home on cable but faster upload.
