Why does my son regen mana?

My prince regens 2 mana per round. Does anybody know why? My sovereign never did that.

I think the idea was that, through your sovereign, real magic users are coming back into the world, the kind that aren't super limited like the channelers that remained after the cataclysm. At least that's my take on it, anyways. Your kids are eventually intended to overshadow your sovereign, at any rate. Not sure I like that though, I kind of like my sovereign to have the best abilities and some of the best stats.

it also depends on location.. i found hp and mana seem to regen (and faster) when you are in your controlled territory or inside your cities respectively.

No, I mean he's regenerating mana during combat.

I guess what I want to know is whether this is a bug, or if it's something I can make happen when I want to. It almost seems like a bug.

Some monsters are also able to regen. Interestingly enough, the higher level of the spouse when you first get them to join your faction, the higher the regen seems to be.

I often find that if I marry the first person I find, they're usually of an inferior quality and produce inferior children, but if I spend the time looking for a good spouse, the results are much much better. Take it for what you will. ^_^

I found that if I wait till after i research the medic pack, equip one to my expected wife, with all else she can carry as well as myself, then wed.. all offspring get regen powers base from equipment

I suspect its an unintended effect as equipment should not translate into hereditary traits.. But then I also got a son Level 1 with 95 essence to start.. not sure how that worked out except that my capital has the + 25% essence feature in it.

It is random. One game, my offspring regenerated six(!) mana and health every combat round. Next game, my 2 offsprings regenerated one and two points, respectively.

For some reason, your and other sovereigns' offsprings always get the talents "regeneration" and "clarity".

If you want your sovereign to have that too, you have to mod him/her before starting the game, since there are no in-game options to catch up on that later, at least none that I am aware of right now. :)

It's evolution.

You as the sov REALLY wish you had some better mana regen so you wouldn't have to stand around clicking next turn so much.

The thru evolution your children are born with the ability to regen mana better than you.

Survival of the fittest.  The sov is out-dated and obsolete once it spawns some brats!
