Wont even run.

Actually two problems:

1. Impulse wont accept my credit card!

Why is that? (seriously! if someone can contact me... i was trying to pre-order for a week as well, and i would like the shinny big box!)

 

2. After i got a friend of mine to buy it for me, i install it... piss my pants coz im about to play it!

and...

nothing.

Elemental.exe just gives me the general "what do you want form me?" that xp gives aka:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling may fix this proble"

well... reinstalling didnt fix it!

 

Getting the patch didnt solve anything, the EElauncher just says Install and read me...

Im on xp sp3.

Have all and beyond the requirements.

I got the same exact problem. Tried installing that update by Kyro, still nothing resolved. How do I get this elemental to run?

I had the same problem with my credit card not working, customer support told me that the verification most company's use is insanely strict so basically if you have a misplaced capital, space or comma or anything different it will reject it. This is really problematic when the way data is imputed for the card is odd, I was told my only option was basically to try entering my shipping data differently until it hit the right combination and worked (don't do this I have like $50 of the mini-transactions where they test the card still waiting to clear off and give me access back to my money). I managed to solve the problem eventually by going through pay-pal I was rather livid by the end of the whole thing tho.

I've been scouring the net but no fix of this seems available. I'm using windows Xp sp 3, updated all hotfixes, intalled VC++ redist up to 2008, .net up to 3.5 sp. still not working. how can i run game???

Weird thing is that it can run on my friends comp which has windows 7. is this game supposed not to run on windows XP?

What error are you getting? The VC++ runtime will solve that one, so if that did not help you, your issue must be different.

I've had this problem on my XP. There are TWO different VC 2005 runtime versions. You need security-fix one.
