First, back up all your WindowBlind skins.

Then after the reformat all you need to do is reinstall Impulse. Log on to Impulse using the info you used when you purchased WB's. It should then show WindowBlinds in the "My Software" tab  Click on install. Impulse will activate it then copy your skins back to the folder in Public Documents. All set to go!

I'm glad I could help. You must work in a nice office if they let you use WindowBlinds at work.

 BTW, Welcome to WinCustomize.:wc:

No need to de-auth the machine or anything like that, just reinstall when you're up and running again.  We're pretty lenient when it comes to activation.  You don't have limitless installs, but no normal user should hit the limits when reinstalling.  And, even if you do, you can always write to us and plead your case, and we'll probably reset the counts for you.

I have recently discovered a program that makes reformatting my hard drive not necessary. When I installed new programs or remove others in the past, I was plagued with computer problems that often facilitated reformatting my hard drive. Since I have used Registry Mechanic, I have not had problems.

Well, I'm going to format my HD and reinstall everything again, so I'm interested in following the advice given here. I don't understand about the "back up all your WindowBlind skins" and "Impulse will . . . copy your skins back to the folder in Public Documents." Of course I can just copy all my skin folders to an external HD, then copy them back to the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds folder again (I have XP Pro SP3) after reinstalling WB with Impulse.

I don't see anything in WindowBlinds that'll back up my skins, so I don't understand how Impulse can copy my skins back to the folder in Public Documents. Maybe I just don't understand what Wizard1956 is saying.

I have to save textures I've created too, right?
