Just pre-ordered, now what?

As a huge fan of MoM I finally got to come across this game, and from what I've seen I simply had to pre-order.  I also read there's a beta for people that pre-order, could someone tell me what I need to do?  Nothing showed up on my impulse account after I pre-ordered.

You don't get beta access instantly - at the start of each beta phase they include anyone who preordered since the last phase, so you should get access when Beta 2 starts. They made an exception during Beta 1 since it was taking so long, and included new beta testers for the recent Beta 1z. Presumably they're still planning on giving more people access when Beta 2 starts, which should be pretty soon, sometime within the next few weeks at a guess.

Sounds good, and sounds like it'll land right after Finals :P, I'll look forward to doing lots of testing!  I can't wait to be acquainted with the community surrounding this game.

Just to give you an idea what to expect, the Beta 1 we're playing now has very little graphics, gameplay, AI, lore, etc - we're really just testing to see if it can run without crashing. Although the gameplay has improved a lot during Beta 1, it's starting to show promise and actually be fun, it's still a very long way from finished. Beta 2 will be similar but multiplayer, really just to test if we can all connect and play each other without crashing, it's only supposed to last two weeks. We don't get the real graphics or serious gameplay/balance testing until Beta 3, the game isn't supposed to be "fun" until then.

By the way: beta schedule with more details.

Haha don't they know that it's fun just helping out in making the game that could be game of the year!

This should be good though, I've done beta testing on some other games, and did my share of bug reporting with software in the open source community.  I'll enjoy ironing out this game in the next beta phase.

Be sure to click the "Show alpha/beta versions" flag in impulse (under preferences)

You got that right!

All the "It's not fun" stuff is just to keep the non-beta masses from storming the castle, with pitchforks and torches ablazin :wulf: -- and maybe even the _pitch_forks ablazin too -- trying to get into beta  ;)

Hi, rather than opening a new pre-order thread i hope you dont mind me high jacking this for a couple of pre order questions.

I am thinking of ordering this game, however ive noticed this game will be shipping from the US therefore costing me an extra £14 delivery as I live in the UK. So my questions are....

Can i pre order this game from the UK? And if do pre order from the US will it arrive on release day? One last question will the US version be comaptable with a UK laptop maybe a stupid question??..

Thanks in advance.

If you don't want to pay shipping but want to order from Stardock, you can order the digital only version. There's no disk and no shipping with that, you just download it using Impulse the day it's available. If you want a retail disk, your best bet might be to wait and get it from a local store.

It'll work fine on a UK laptop. :)
