Hi,some time ago i pay for WindowBlinds 7 upgrade from old version, but received only Impulse download link, help please...
How long is 'some time ago'?
Did you follow the instructions in the email and download Impulse?
Impulse is used to download WindowBlinds.
So install Impulse, enter your account details and WindowBlinds 7 should appear on the my software tab.
Yes i know about install wb trough impulse, but i pay for upgrade for windowblinds, not for impulse.Impulse useless software,i dont want install IMPULSE
Use Impulse to download WindowBlinds. You don't need it to run WindowBlinds so you can turn it off. I would still leave Impulse on your somputer because that is how you will get your updates for WindowBlinds during the years of you subscription.
I just wanna my standalone WindowBlinds...
I think what you need to do at this point is email support@stardock.com. Explain that you want to load WindowBlinds without having to use Impulse.
Yes i'm send email to support long time ago and just received my serial numbers and links for downloads, but not for upgraded wb7...My problem is my poor english...
Updates for Stardock programs are done using Impulse.
not again...
I have purchased standalone programs WindowBlinds 5,Icon Packager,Object Dock, but i never payed for impulse, impulse not need for my purposes,i payed money for upgrade from standalone version of wb 5 to wb 7
Impulse is free and it is used to get updates to Stardock software. You can either install Impulse now and get your updated WB7 right away or email support@stardock.com.
Please note: Stardock support are off for the holidays and won't return until Monday, January 4, 2010. - Stardock Holiday Vacation
It seems that installing a free program Impulse would be the way to go but that is just my opinion.
You can uninstall Impulse after doing your upgrading if you don't wish to have it on your computer, but as said earlier it does no harm and is how you get other updates throughout the year.
Bottom line is that you have no choice but to use Impulse if you want windowblinds. Nuff said.
Yep...what He said!
theres no other way around it and whats the big deal about installing Impulse anyways...it not a resource hog or spyware or any of the other BS you might expect....and to top it off YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT ANYWAYS...so suck it up aand go get it
Who you,big security profesional? Impulse like a huge trojan, wants know all about me and download all for me.I dont want to pay money for trojans.
Today i received email, about standalone version of wb 7,what i should do? Once i'm paying money for impulse, the second for the standalone version of wb? Company wants all my money ?
Impulse is not a trojan, it's a download manager. It will take care of any updates at the click of a button.
Impulse is free, there is no charge.
I suggest if you feel differently you ask for a refund on any products you have purchased.
Henriss: Install Impulse, download and install WindowBlinds using Impulse, Uninstall Impulse. Problem solved.

Did Stardock ever get this many complaints about SDC? It's the same thing! I really don't get people's problem ![]()
I had a similar issue. I only use WindowBlinds and I used to receive the program as a standalone version. I e-mailed Stardock and I was told that with version 7 the only way to get WindowBlinds is by installing Impulse.
There is not other way around. As other people in this thread suggest, just disable Impulse.
Having a stubborn nature, now I realized the benefits of using Impulse to check for updates for WindowBlinds. I fire it up the program once a week and every time a new update is ready, some of the issues I had with WindowBlinds are solved.
You can get a standalone WindowBlinds 7 installer by logging in with your account at
http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/
I'm not sure whether the installer installs Impulse or not but it let's you install without having Impulse
on your computer in the first place.
don't work
tested
get errors at running the exe.
You have to download both the setup file with the extension ".exe" and the data file with the extenstion ".impulse"
and put them in the same folder before running the setup file. The names of the files as you see on
impulsedriven.com are:
= WindowBlinds 7 Installer (~8.6 MB)
= WindowBlinds 7 Data File (31.64 MB)
You also need to have .NET Framework 2.0 on your computer to run the setup. It can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en
If you did all of the above and still got an error, you can post the error here so that I can see what's up.
I don't believe tis thread hasn't imploded from endless whining.
You want WB7, install Impulse. You have to have Net2.0 also. Endo of story.
Install it or don't. Jeeeeez! Enough!
You tell 'em Doc! ![]()
